There's a reason why Lucy quickly set up a gofundme on behalf of the family and then did a TV interview with her back to the camera so her face couldn't be seen.

i do not believe Jay made that call..but....he could have. Hope he found safe and well.

He stole drugs from the two mens house and then took off. That’s why he had no water and didn’t wait for the bus. The two men have probably caught up with him later on or he has tried to stash the drugs in the mountains and hurt himself. Spanish police won’t want to admit to drugs involved as it’s bad for tourism

Summary thoughts Today I took a day off searching as my time here draws to an end. I came here to try and make sense of the area and what is likely to have and not have happened. Like the Nicola Bulley case, there are so many loose ends and theories about what has or hasn’t happened. I feel it is important with a case like this to break it down into levels of importance. Primarily, where is Jay? For that we have to look at the last known whereabouts and other information that is important that can verify, with a degree of reliability, where he his. Is he lost in the mountains, or is he watching the Euros, whilst waiting for the GoFundMe to clear before declaring himself a miracle. Secondly, how did he end up in Masca. Although there are a lot of theories, there is a danger that trying to work out the whole backstory impedes the primary goal, to find Jay Thirdly, what part did Lucy play in all of this? Realistically; her involvement is third place. I think the majority can agree, she wasn’t there that day. So in this long winded post, I’ll try to explain my rationale. Where is Jay? We don’t know. However, I’m adamant that he was there that day and did end up somewhere in the mountains. To dispel the sighting on CCTV down in Santiago Del Teide, whilst it was physically possible to walk from his location to Santiago Del Teide, he didn’t. Why? Because that route has hundreds of tourists passing through every day and nobody saw him, except the landlady at around 8:15am walking up the road. He already told Lucy he was in trouble, and along that route, there were numerous people he could have flagged down, cafes to stop at etc etc. We can only assume he was lost in the wild. Whilst it is possible he got picked up along the way, we know he left the road and in doing so, told Lucy he picked up a cactus injury and was lost. There are no cacti in the road, so between 8:15am and shortly before 8:30am, he left the road. In trying to ascertain the truth, one must look at the timeline. The last ‘ping’ on his phone placed him near a trail which was at a palm tree. Before visiting that location, I ran a Google map search to ascertain whether it was possible to stick to the roads and then the entry of that trail, within the timeframe. It wasn’t. It meant Jay had to have left at 7.45am. However, when I walked from the cafe at the top of the hill, along to where you can access the track (to double back), I discovered an unofficial shortcut that looked like it had been used by a few people. I assessed that the timeframe sorted perfectly if he diverted at that point and then walked down towards the palm tree, which is where he had his call with Lucy. Phone calls or texts prompt signal locations. Incidentally; where I believe he cut off the road, there was a cactus bush at the bottom of the incline that appeared damaged, so it is probable he slipped there and injured himself. Why did he leave the road? My theory is open on this. He didn’t want to hang around Masca and wait 2 hours for a bus. Instead he preferred to walk 11 hours. The walking route to Santiago takes you in the direction he travelled; whereas the car route takes you the opposite (and correct) way. My working theory is that something went wrong at that AirB&B and he made a sharp exit. He was seen by the landlady walking fast; which if you have seen those uphill inclines, means he was in a hurry. Was he fearful the guys were going to find him and he ducked off the road where he couldn’t be seen? Who knows. The last people to see him really hold those answers. How did he end up in Masca? The very remote location is really suitable to hikers or those who want to remain undisturbed. The two men weren’t hikers and I understand they returned earlier than planned back to the UK after questioning by the police. The working theory is this is drug related, which is the line the media appear to be going down. I can’t answer why, except that if you are going to Tenerife for a rave, there is cheap accommodation locally. The journey from Los Cristianos to Masca is a long one and that segment between Santiago is not a nice one. Roads are narrow, corners are sharp. It’s a ball ache. Generally if you are going to a Rave, you tend to relax and drink and do whatever. This isn’t a journey back you do unless you are sober. How Was Lucy involved in all of this? Cant answer that one. Lots of fake stuff is floating around. I understand she became overwhelmed with it all and turned her phone off. I understand she is back in the UK and from a logical point, I doubt the family are pleased with her so will be difficult for her to remain here alone, for her own personal safety. I was told by a journalist she went back with a guy (hook up?) and left Jay. The reality of all of this is, we will never know what happened until he is found, if he is found. Rumours will circulate but from what I feel based on my time here, it’s a missing person who became lost.

People love a mystery, and no doubt many (frustrated by the ineffectivenes of the British legal system) are hoping that this young thug will be get his deserts by fate or possibly by other gangsters.

Finding a phone in a deep ravine is like looking for a needle in a haystack, more so if nobody is with it.

I'm struggling to understand how jay was given the responsibility and accountability to manage 30k worth of drugs .. I think Lucy has had the 30k off and jay is getting the blame

Thank God that the family of a fit and healthy19 year old ,drug dealing,gang member convicted of a machete attack on a young lad were able to pack,get passports sorted and book flights within 24 hours of him supposedly being late home.?How did their employers manage to cover them?? .Im 70 ,and it takes me longer to go to the post office for my pension, the only option,as all the banks are closed. Great idea to not only fly ,feed and accommodate one lot of hangers on,but to fly their mates out as well!! Come off it,is it only me ??? When the poor lost boy is found,despite everyone flying to the sun to offer advice to the experts,let's hope they're not faced with an enormous bill,charges of wasting police time and fraud. Hope he 'comes home safe'

I thought the drug story was a load of nonsense because of his history but after hearing these men were not at the rave but met him that morning in a bar I have changed my mind. Did they meet him that morning to give him the drugs and returned after the rave for what was left and the money and he didn't have it? I think it's possible. It's the only reason I can think of for turning up at 4am and taking him to such a remote location. Nobody knows who called Lucy that morning, we only have her word for it. The lady witness is not independent because she lives in the same building the men rented, they could be associates. He's never going to be found. He's in the water.
