I couldn’t agree more with you brother and I’ve always respected and loved about Jay is he’s a true Car Guy, and not like so many so called car guy’s. Don’t get me wrong he’s got professional Mechanics that work for him to take care of his cars, but he’s still a car guy that’ll get in there and twist wrenches with them. Truthfully with the amount of cars, and the WIDE Variety of cars he’s got he couldn’t do it alone. He’d literally have to be a Master Tech, and a Boilermaker because his cars literally go from internal combustion engines to steam boiler powered cars

He probably still does it, but back in the 90's he would go to local car or bike hangouts and just shoot the shit for hours. Almost any weekend you could go to the Rock Store on Mulholland and see him or a few other celebs who liked motorcycles.
Jay Leno is a personal hero of mine and I'm fortunate to have had the chance to meet him at a trade show. Great person, and of course an impeccable car collection. He's not a collector, he's a curator. We are fortunate he has the resources to maintain these unique pieces of automotive history, and that he is willing to share them with us.
Ed needs to get Jay Leno on an episode of Vinwiki. He probably has so many good car stories.

A good friend of mine (GM guy) was contacted by Jay Leno a few years ago, about an owners manual he had for the Turbine Car. They met up Niagara Falls, Ontario where Jay was doing a show. They did a meet and greet and got to take in a show. Jay also extended a visit to his shop when in the area. Cool story with pictures to back it up.
" So about 3 minutes later I'm in an airplane..."
The clip of Jay Leno on Top Gear when they sit down for the interview and list his cars is a great one to watch.
Lawyers are always cool. Professional story tellers, technically
Leno is the man , loves cars, loves people and is actually 1 of the nicest celebrities. His in my top 3 for the only celebrities I would like to meet in person
The video of these cars being scrapped is one of the saddest on KZread.
I have greatly enjoyed Jay's car videos over the years, and more recently discovered Steve's, "Lehto's Law" videos - those are also enjoyable. Super cool that Steve has written several books while also practicing law!
When I was twelve years old I saw the Turbine Car at Grosmount Shopping Center in La Mesa, California. It was displayed on an elevated stage. They ran the engine. I was in automotive heaven. Later that summer I saw the Turbine Car in Anoka, Minnesota. Twice in a lifetime! Now I can see Jay Leno’s Turbine Car on KZread. Life is good.
Welcome once again to Lehto’s Wiki. Here’s Steve Lehto:
Ok, now I wanna hear the story from Jay on how he actually came about to buy the car! Maybe jay has a video on it himself, or maybe it’s in the foreword of the book!

So good that Jay Leno is not only an amazing historian, curator and savior of interesting vehicles but great to hear he is as nice and genuine as we all hope he is! What a legend
Imagine Having Jay Leno on Vinwiki........
This was a good story. Not a car I am really interested in, but the way he told it and the amount of information that was in it made it really enjoyable.
I love when Steve Lehto is a guest on the show
Jay’s Y2K turbine bike amazed me when I was a kid. This was the mid 90s, we didn’t have the Internet. I swiped an issue of Popular Mechanics from my dentist’s office and hid it under my mattress like it was an issue of Playboy. Every so often I’d get the magazine out and crawl inside my mind what it had to be like riding a motorcycle with a Bell helicopter engine powering it. In fact, my mother found it one day and without looking at it, scolded me for hiding porn in her house.
BEST CHANNEL ON KZread!!! This was a amazing story! Thank you
We need Jay Leno on here ASAP
I got to ride in the Turbine car. My dad worked for Chrysler back then and sometimes he would bring a vehicle home from work. Everything from an Imperial to a semi-tractor. He didn't do it too often but he did bring home some really nice cars. One day he brought home the Turbine car. The future was in our driveway and I fell in love with it. I was 10 years old at the time and I was in love. It's always been one of my favorite cars. I just wish I was old enough to have been able to drive it. It caused quite the stir in our neighborhood.
Vinwiki, you keep out doing yourself with these amazing stories & I love it! Extra points on this one having Jay Leno involved as well.
I like this guy but man I thought Ed had scored Jay Leno and about fell out of my chair
Love the stories Steve! Great content also. And thanks to vin wiki for sharing this story.
I didn't expect to see Steve L. Got to watching it and thought "he sounds JUST like that lawyer Steve".... well DUUUUH! LOL!

When I was stationed at NAS Point Mugu I used to ride sport bikes with some friends. One destination was The Rock Store. I met Jay Leno there, it was during his "Doritos Days" as a spokesperson. He stopped by, spoke with us and was super cool. After that I would see him up at the Rick Store every now and then on some classic bike or car. He was always the same guy, super nice and friendly. Great video!
Great vlog!! And no damn commercials..THANK YOU
That was a great story. Always love to hear stories with Jay Leno in them, he’s truly a genuine guy and a real car guy.
Always great to watch a Lehto Slaw commentary! Thanks, Steve! :)

I knew this was the Turbine car when I saw that front end! Such a marvel of machinery
Nobody thinks you could get Jay Leno on your show. Now I wanna see it.

It just hit me, we need to get Jay on this channel to tell car stories. Just imagine what he could share.
That’s a neat story! I’m glad Steve Lehto dreams came true.
Great story and video. Jay is a true enthusiast and a genuinely nice person. So generous! Have a great day CHEERS!
I met Leno in '91, at a car show in San Fernando, CA. Like Steve says, he was exactly like he was on TV.
Great story. So glad that you got to do that.
A truly amazing story. Thank you much for sharing.
Love this story!! Met Jay once at Bob's Big Boy in NoHo, what a cool guy so genuine
Thanks Ed, thanks Steve, great story about your book & brilliant you got to drive an amazing piece of history, Rj in Oz
The Stahl car collection in S/E Michigan just got one of these about 3 months ago. Saw it about 3 days after it was first started up and driven around their parking lot. They documented it and it is on KZread now. Until you see this car you won't believe how large it is....and that engine....wow. Definitely not a small grocery getter run about. Sounds cool also. Jay has a great collection and glad he was able to add this to his collection. There are lots of awesome cars in the Stahl collection and always adding more. Mostly focused on older cars such as Duesenberg, Auburn, and many very rare one-of-one cars. If you ever get to Michigan it is a must visit for any car afficiando. I go by 5 or 6 times every year to see what they have and to participate in their Thursday Cars and Coffee events.
Ran into Jay Leno years ago at a classic car swap meet somewhere out near LA Tuna Canyon. Really nice guy and just giving rides in his Blastolene Special for no reason other than fun.
Super cool story. Thanks Steve!
Awesome story, i would really like to meet Jay one day in my life
This is one of my favorite stories to date. Heck gosh I love Jay Leno.
Jay Leno needs to come on and tell a few car stories
Somehow this made me like Jay Leno even more. He's like the anti-celebrity.
in the 90's i used to deliver drum kits for artists that appeared on the tonight show. and every time i went to NBC studios i would see a different car that jay drove. come to find out he did that every day. i knew he was a car guy but it wasn't until i seen his YT channel that i realized how big his collection is. and yes, every time i actually seen him he was always cordial.
Been waiting for more lehto
Another great story and another story of the stars aligning.
No insult intended... but this story has got to be my favorite, it really struck a cord with me. I mean, I'm listening to this guy and I catch myself talking to myself saying.. man, I'm really happy for him... meeting Leno, driving any of his cars much less the turbine... Leno does the intro for his book. I'm laughing to myself because I'm so happy for this guy. Great story, thank you.
Great segment!

Jay rolled up next to me one time in the new NSX in early 2017 when it first came out on Aviation in El Segundo. I revved my little Civic at him. He giggled and pulled away.
When I interned at the WPC Museum in 2015 I had the great honor of driving one of their Turbine cars. What an experience!! I believe I saw my old boss in the video too, Brant Rosenbush was his name I think, great boss for an incredible internship!
I like these stories. So unique yet possible
YUP!!! Turbine cars should make a comeback with all the coverage on it
I was at the '64-'65 New York World's Fair and saw the Chrysler Turbine car. I was too young to drive, but, like Jay, loved cars.
I worked at Chrysler engineering during the 70’s while the turbine cars were still around. Although I was not involved with them I knew tech’s that were and filled me in on them. The turbines at engineering were not the show cars that you always see, but we’re C body’s with turbines installed in them. It was a exciting time to work there with all the different projects going on. Very interesting video, I’d like to read that book if it’s still in print.
I've been watching Jay's videos for years now, and you can just tell he's the same guy in real life than he is on camera. Even though he's a very successful multi millionaire, just the way he dresses tells you he is such an unpretentious, genuine guy, and the way he's so passionate about his collection of cars, bikes plus all manner of other machines means every one of his videos is a joy to watch. To this day I always look forward to his latest offering each Monday. I can't think of many ways I'd rather spend a day than having a one on one guided tour with Jay around his amazing collection and just talking about cars, bikes and machines in general. Although I'm not as knowledgeable as Jay, I'm still perfectly capable of boring the living daylights out of people on the subject.
When I was in about 5th grade in the mid-1970s, the most amazing book I found in the school library was on turbine cars.
Took me way too long to figure out he wasn't saying "Turban" car
Now that’s a cool story. I’m going to pick up a copy of deaths door. Sounds interesting
I used to stop by the Transportation Museum in ST Louis all the time on my way home from community college, just to look at their turbine car. My student ID helped me get in the museum so frequently.
That was a cool story. I've read (and still have a copy of) Steve's Lemon Law book.
I already love John Lehto's videos, but this is super cool.
Thanks for another interesting and entertaining video
Jay is truly an awesome person. Wish there was more like him out there
I have been in love with the Turbine cars ever since my first late-night viewing of "The Lively Set".
That was great that you got to meet Jay Leno and drive the car.
Wow. This is one of the best stories yet.
This car was beyond cool when I saw it in suburban Chicago back in the early 1960s. It was beautifully designed and sounded like an F-86 Sabre jet taxiing.
I'm already a Steve Lehto fan. Great law channel.
I saw Jay leno on the 101 a few years back. I heard this amazing sound coming down the road. Here comes one of those high displacement roadsters. Im thinking "Holy sh*t, look at this historical piece of machinery...... HOLY SH*T THATS JAY LENO!" it was right by the bay watch life guard shack in Santa Monica. Double nostalgia points.
Any car under Leno's care is basically in a museum. But a much more fun, hands on kind of style.
Really enjoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
