I think the people in the US appreciates her talent but also starting to wonder why she hasn't been given that break yet. Is she a threat to the music scene there? Even in the Philippines, a few years back, she was not given the break she deserved because she was already putting the really good and popular singers to shame. I tell you, she could be the most bashed and envied artist in the country to this day, but through her hard work, she was able to rise up to the challenge.

Morissette had in fact signed with Rhett Lawrence , an American producer who also produced if not helped the career of Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera et al. He flew to the Philippines to watch Morissette's concert. Rhett saw her video and decided to check out her star quality hence his trip to the Philippines. Morissette still has a contract with ABS-CBN, a TV station that carries musical extravaganza shows on weekend and Morissette is one of the regulars. Morissette is only 23 and she knows she has to pay her dues if she wants to crack the international scene and stardom. So, let us all wait and see what the future holds for this very talented young woman.

You make sense but WAIT FOR WHAT? She is THE most emotional singer in the WORLD. I will say Diana ( dee ah nah) from Russia is also emotional but her unique voice is not for everyone. Morrissette is a gift from the angels of the lord. Whistles are whistles but Morries emotional transference is sets her FAR apart. So I should wait while I get Mylie Cyrus and Britany Spears and Jennifer Lopez and Selena Gomez and the " Bad Guy" girl SHOVED down my throat? This sucks.

Ok, Phillip, so i usually like the things you say and you have huge admiration for her, and that goes a longgg way, ..BUT..I have to question some of your statements here, First , you say she "had" signed with Rhett, We all know that he flew there and she caught his ear, and he did say in the Wish Interview "Yes, Im her Producer", However..its been 3 yrs since that, and Not a word or a hint or a statement from him, or her, or ANYBODY from her team to "Officially" declare such ever happened, Did she "sign"? we never saw any such announcement, i would think that IF in fact that was true, there would have been by now, Something to back it up, and as of today, Nothing...Soo..whats up with that? we would all love to know the story, In Fact, in one of her more recent live streams (last week), a fan point blank asked her about the "Capitol Records deal with Rhett", and her answer was not surprising to me, but some don't think as i do, but in fact, she addressed the question with the answer "You should direct that to the people responsible for it", and Never Mentioned Rhetts name, in fact, completely ignored it, soo..now we have to wonder...whats up?? what happened? maybe in time we will get the whole story, but for now, that's all we have. 2nd, you stated that she is "still under contract with ABS-CBN", and i have to question that as well, Is she? did she actually sign a deal with them?, do we know that to be a FACT? and if so, for how long? seems to be some big holes in that story as well, Based on the recent events with ABS CBN, is she still under lock with them? is there a"no compete clause" in said contract? I say Negative, If that was so, we would NOT be getting all we have been from her outside of ABS CBN, Knowing as to how strict they are as a Co. and "rights", i doubt very seriously that she is under any such "contract", but i may be wrong, If you have any proof of that, please fwd it this way. And Lastly the big one, You said, "Morissette is Only 23, and has to"pay her dues" to make it? OK, First of all, she will be 24 in less than 30days, THAT, is Not young. She is Ready.(Vocally and Performance wise anyway) Has to Pay her dues? Sir, Please, have you been following her over the last 3 yrs? Pay her Dues???? What?? Morissette is THE Hardest working woman in the industry, certainly one of in her own country, has several HUGE 100+ and Over 10M View Hits, and HERS, Not Covers. Has faced down the tyrants in her country (some as vicious as rabid Pitt bulls) Been put in Countless positions of "no rest", No family", No Personal time, and many many otherwise destructive to career problems, and has shined thru, I dare you to try to write down all the Pro's and Con's she has had to deal with in just the last year alone. She has More than payed her dues and she is more than just another great singer from the Philippines. i could go on for an hr here, but i think you get my point. Please stay in the lines, lets try to always talk FACTS and not something we "heard on the internet" or some random comment, God knows there are enough of those to go on forever. Peace man, No Anger intended here, just want to keep people in the right direction which is what we all want for her and the direction we all want is for her to go straight up to the TOP, where she belongs.

Her father was a vocalist in a band. Morissette is not formally trained, but she started off very young, singing in competitions and that honed her skills.

I agree with u guys, she does belong in that league. Also, she does need a bunch of originals in English, a lot of music consumers may not readily catch on to her Tagalog ones, even if those are lovely and outstanding.

I think she is just too good for the rest of the industry. It's too big of a risk, sadly. Also shes currently singing 8-10h a week any song on request.

Morissette was initially trained by her father. He was a lead guitarist for an 80’s rock cover band. He named Morissette after an 80’s female singer named Alanis Morissette. Singing is a national past time in the Philippines. It’s taken seriously, comparable to sports here in the USA. Pound for pound, Filipino singers are some of the best on the planet. They blow anybody here in the US, current or past. I’m pretty sure Morie is working with a professional vocal coach now since she’s under contract with ABS-CBN. But yes, Morissette is a badass. I hope she cracks the US market, but at the same time not fall prey to the nutjobs in Hollywood.

Amen my friend. Naririnig Mo Ba on wish bus is maybe the greatest musical delivery and vocal acrobatics of all time. The chorus of that song is 100 out of 100 for difficulty and beauty. You guys r back!! Hope you are well. Missed you guys and was worried something might be wrong. Mori’s Dad was a musician. She calls him a “rocker.” She is beautiful but in an elegant way, imo. She doesn’t try and be sexy. She doesn’t have to. Like Kay!! That’s not nice u got made fun of for ur bun hair!! Morissette has a boyfriend and is in love now with another musician, Dave Lamar. He was on The Voice with her. In fact it has been controversial cause her family has had a hard time approving of their love. In fact last November she walked out of a concert when she was asked about it. Caused some issues with her reputation. But apologized and seems to have got past it and seems her family relationship has improved. I agree, this young lady needs to be known world wide. Her vocals and talent r immense. Keyboard Warrior, I agree with you on some points. But there's so many great Singers but not Composers themselves. If I remember some like, Matt Munro, Engelbert Humperdinck, or even Elvis Presley to name a few are not known to be composers. Engelbert rose to fame of his cover of "Release Me" that were covered by many singers way back in the 50's. I'm wondering why Asians can't break thru the American Recording Industry. Among Asians, Pilipinos are known for great Singers/Performers, tho not totally unknown are still undiscovered, underrated, if not discriminated, if I may use that harse term. Had it not been for the Internet, Pilipino Artist may still be like living in the stone age for being unheard of.
