So it’s SHARK SEASON 2024! This is our first year participating in the channel, so we wanted to look at some cool Shark films! This is from 1978 and a sequel to the Original. This is JAWS 2. Years after the shark attacks that left Amity Island reeling, Sheriff Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) finds new trouble lurking in the waters. Mayor Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) wants to rid the beach town of the stain on its reputation. But the disappearance of a pair of divers suggests that all is not right. When Sheriff Brody voices his warnings about holding a sailing competition, everyone thinks it's post-traumatic stress. That is, until a shark fin cuts through the water.

Jaws 2 is often maligned as being a sequel to a film that didn't need a sequel. Actually for anyone who saw the first movie and wanted more, a sequel was required. The original idea for the sequel was very different I understand, but I'm glad they reeled it back to the original setting and characters. Terrific that they managed to get Roy Scheider back - he returned grudgingly, in order to fulfill his contract with the studio, but he didn't phone it in, his performance was very sincere.

Barbequed shark is just about the finest smell in the world.
Jaws 3 and 4 aren’t great at all but totally guilty pleasures of mine. I enjoy them for that they are. This is best sequel of the series.

Sir Michael Caine as a widow chaser. I think he player that role a couple of times. 😁
Jaws 2 is a pretty decent sequel in my book. When I was younger I used to get confused as to whether some of the scenes were the first movie or not, like the cyanide bullets - to me if you are getting similar feels to the original, that's the sign of a good sequel.
For me Roy Scheider was the reason this movie was enjoyable, major pts which I can't blame him (he had it about the water in the first one) but it was badass of him helping all those teens out considering the boats they were sailing on... He had a professional shark hunter and scientist help him in the last one and look what happened... Chief Brody is the goat

A worthy sequel that doent get enough credit I think. There was no way they were gonna top the original but this is still a classic sequel. Great cast john williams returning to do the music again bigger shark and more cool kills. What more could u want in a sequel. Although I did miss Richard Dreyfuss not in even a small cameo would have been nice
There is an early 80s comedy film called Hysteria where they parody this film by having the sheriff of a small town obsessed with sharks. Every time someone dies he thinks it's a shark. They even got the same actor to play the mayor of the town constantly telling him it's not sharks.

The film is called Hysterical. It’s the original horror movie parody.

@@MLJ7956 that’s true.
'Jaws 2' is so an excellent film and works because of the return of Roy Schieder, Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton and especially, John Williams, who provides a better score than he did for the original.
This film is no masterpiece like the first film but I will admit the scares are more frightening in this than in the first.

I think I actually like this one better than the first though both are great
I always enjoyed Jaws 2, and Jaws 3-D! (All the movie studios were putting out 3D gems). Park 3 takes place at Sea World.
I can’t wait till yall do Deep Blue Sea. That’s my favorite shark movie.

That's a pile of crap. Completely idiotic.
The premise of this film is solid. Sharks do mate after all,and In the novel this shark was a pregnant female-the mate of the Male from the first film. Great whites give birth to live young, and the gestation period for their offspring is a LONG period.
@lyndoncmp5751

That's a misconception. In the novel it says she was made pregnant by a male two years before. Problem is, the events in Jaws took place FOUR years before the events in Jaws 2 and the shark in Jaws had been dead for two years before the shark in Jaws 2 got pregnant.
Totally agree with you,I think this is a great sequel,do not understand why many do not like it…
I think this is better than the first, more complicated action scenes like waterskiing.
Jaws 3D is ridiculous but I love it for how silly it is I don't know if you guys will get to that one but it's nuts.

I agree! So ridiculous as well as the 4th. Both guilty pleasures of mine!
Not as good as the original but I loved Jaws 2 underrated Sequel I still think one of the Best Shark Movies 👍
Love all the content, but i appreciate the shark week content even more!! Snoopers gonna snoop 4 Life 🎉
FYI: scuba divers that come up too fast, that are below a certain depth, get what is called the Bends. Or Benz. Too much build up of Nitrogen in the bloodstream. It can be fatal.
By all means please continue this series and watch Jaws 3 and especially The Revenge just so you can see how bad they are. You will get some good laughs from both.
I actually enjoy Jaws 3 (3D). However 4 (Jaws: The Revenge) just sucks despite having Michael Caine in it. It must be noted though that I will watch and collect every shark movie that comes out..no matter how bad it is. 😂
Great reaction to this underrated shark sequel you two... At 47:10 you said "Meet me on land you shark"...well if you want to see a land type shark movie then check out 'Tremors' (1990) with Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Michael Gross & Reba McEntire (and yes they alao made several Tremor sequel movies too).
Great Reactions Guys Thank You
On you tube there's Jaws 2 45th anniversary interviews with the cast.
29:10 She was in a state of shock 4,000 psi bite force I’d say your only pulling half of the body back in the boat if your not bite while attempting that I’d say save yourself🤷🏻♂️
You two gotta continue with,3-4. Jaws,3. Lol 🤣😆. It's so bad , hilarious that it's a guilty pleasure.😊❤, 4 Too. But as someone who remembers,3 s. Part,3, except Friday The,13 Th. From, Superman,3. Amityville ,3 The Demon 3D. They should have stopped with Amityville,2 The Possession. That was loosely, based on the Defeaos. Another , Exception is Halloween,3.
Jaws 1 and 2 is great but 3 and 4…no no no! 😄
It's sad how many people hated this movie. Yes it'll never top the first for various reasons, but it was a worthy sequel. The shark still looked pretty good. 2 Divers at the Orca, Water skier eaten after a speed chase and boat pilot dying in an explosion, a young teenager dragged and slammed against a boat, diver getting so scared he almost killed himself by going up too fast, The scene with michael almost swallowed. The helicopter, Marge sacrifice.. They sure were creative and interesting death. I never called this movie a guilty pleasure.

Actually it was very successful at the box office, was very popular on tv and generally had mostly decent reviews. It's 3 and 4 that people think of negatively. Most people who have actually seen Jaws 2 think it's at least ok or decent, despite not being on the level of the original.
Every bit as good as Jaws if in a different way, more action and suspense.
Hey guys thanks for watching jaws ✌🦈 Please please put the Meg one into on your list please. !!!!!! 🙏😇

JAWS IS BACK!
Another great shark movie that you may want to check out is The Shallows if you haven't seen it yet. It's very suspenseful.
I think that this one is a really good sequel. The tone and pacing are completely different than the first one, but I think that’s a positive. What’s the point in making a sequel that’s basically just a copy of the first one. Likely an inferior and poor copy because who can do Steven Spielberg other than Spielberg himself?? lol The third one is a campy mess, in the best way possible lol. I actually prefer the third one over the second 😂 Dennis Quaid and Lea Thompson fighting for their lives against killer shark(S) that got trapped in a theme park similar to Seaworld 😅😂😭 I love it lmao and I really think y’all might to! Now Jaws: The Revenge?? A complete and utter MESS! And not in a good, fun way like the third. I’m happy to never watch a single scene from that ridiculous movie again in my life lol (however I will if y’all react to it. Y’all always got my support!)
HAPPY SHARK WEEK!
JAWS 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a good, solid sequel ! xx
It was the 70s. Less is more, like the original Halloween. Let your imagination take over as far as the kills that you can't see. The FX were great.
The original script was going to have the helicopter pilot survive and save marge, but they wantedbit to play out with both dying.
I enjoyed your reaction. I'd be interested to see what you think of Jaws 3-D and Jaws The Revenge. I thought Ann Dusenberry's (Tina) acting was soo good.
Love that we’re watching shark movies u guys gotta check out deep blue sea honestly my favorite shark movie I think you guys will like it keep up the great content !!
(I just want to point out to everyone how long it took the parents to realize the second son, the 8 y/o was not at home.)
Jaws is for me one pure slasher
If I had killed a shark by electrocution, I’d probably feel like having fried fish for dinner later on
Shark in Jaws 1 had a baby at end when shark killed, if you pay close attention you can see ! The shark in 2 is the baby grown😵💫

Nawww. The shark in Jaws was a male. It has claspers. Plus it would take 40 or 50 years for a great white to grow to 25ft. Jaws 2 takes place only a few years after Jaws.
That was point first more tension to not show shark right away first movies always do that
This shark in Jaws 2 is actually the mate of the male great white from the first movie Jaws movie

I read that in a wiki all the sharks in the jaws franchise are related to each other
@lyndoncmp5751
15 күн бұрын
@scottwalker5379 Wiki is not an official source. Nowhere in either of the first two films and books is there any mention of this. In the book Jaws 2 it says the shark was made pregnant by a male shark 2 years before, but the events in Jaws happened 4 years before, so the Jaws shark had been dead for 2 years.
Jaws 3-D is just ok but the 3-D effects make it look like a SYFY channel movie. Very cheesy. Jaws: The Revenge would have been better without the ridiculous plot line. Also the ending when the shark is killed is so bad. Some good attack sequences though.
Guys react to clue movie

Such a great movie!
This unnecessary sequel was actually alright. It's the next two (yeah, that's right) that are ridiculous; not to mention just about every shark movie after this.

There was public interest in seeing more of Amity and the Brodys and the box office was significant and Jaws 2 was a big deal so I wouldn't say it was unnecessary. Well no more than any other sequels.
Damn this white girl fine as hell!
Watch under Paris, might be the best shark movie in a long while
I like this movie better than the first. 1. The biggest mistake is they have the same idiot(democrat?) mayor. 2. Eye candy. I like the interaction between the kids. Especially Tina Wilcox/Ann Dusenberry.😍😋😈 3. Except when they're stupid. The Helo sees you. No need to be attracting attention. 4. The woman in the boat at the beginning pouring gasoline on herself was stOOOOOOOOOpid X 100. It almost looked intentional 5. The oceanic "expert" needs to find another line of work.🙄 6. "Elvis" is played by Keith Gordon. Two notable roles are Arnie in Stephen King's "Christine" and with Rodney Dangerfield in 'Back to School". 7. DON'T do the next one. Roy Schieder read the script and refused to play Brody. It's that bad.🤬

@williamjones6031 1. cute … your assuming (Mayor) Vaughn’s political bent - despite common knowledge that most reckless, low brow pigs are conservative. 2. hmm. 3. “Helo” … ? 4. the water-ski boat driver doesn’t pour it on herself intentionally … she stumbles when the shark thrusts itself deeper into the hull. 5. Dr. Elkins got sass, but i don’t recall her saying one thing that isn’t factual. sexist much? 6. “Elvis” isn’t “Elvis” … he’s “Doug” … & “Doug” doesn’t look like “Elvis” in the eyes of any living being with an IQ above 80. 7. Roy Scheider never looked at a script for Jaws 3-D … he actually made Blue Thunder (1983) to avoid an approach from Universal. Jaws 3-D isn’t grand … but it’s colorful & fun - a monster movie for the cotton candy crowd. the new 4K scan (coming to physical media this month) is gorgeous.
Good that you skipped number 3 and others, they are very bad!
