Yeah, the story at 37:00 is also weird, the fact that he would fill breaks without having product in hand is not a good look/not a good practice for breakers…

Negotiating prices of over priced cards and over pricing card’s because people always try to negotiate has to be the biggest time waste in the hobby - besides ripping wax 😂

Really enjoyed this. We really don’t have much of any local card shops where i live. Will definitely visit this one if I’m ever in the state/area.

andy from indy card does the same thing. if someone from his team has an idea bring it to the table and explain why they should do it.

A bit off topic but I know you like kid cudi, have you seen the album cover he released yet and what do you think about it?

27:00-29:00 seems like the owner spewed a lot of bs to try and justify the fact that his prices are quite a bit higher than actual value! could just be me though

He’s pushing for education and economics of deals and the buying process.

@@mojo_sports that’s fair but he can get the same thing accomplished by putting prices out at comps/at their values and kids can still negotiate ! Kids may feel better that they negotiate a card listed at the shop for $10 down to $8 but if the cards value is $5, they are getting a false sense of “accomplishment”. Put the card out for $5-7, kid negotiates it down to $4, both sides are happy.

@@mojo_sports definitely not an issue just with this shop but I’ve been to 10-15 shops around the US and the biggest issue I see is prices way over comps. It is now also the biggest issue at card shows, and most people’s main complaint at the national too.

When I went there, they didn't charge me $7 for a 4 row box full of cards. They tried to charge me $40 on a Sunday. A 4 row box doesn't hold 4000 cards.

Haha, looks like there was maybe 25 in a pack. $8.00? Yikes, that's absolutely terrible pricing. I'm about an hour away this shop and never want to visit it with this guys pricing.
