Yeah a few of Blake dunks were pretty overrated to imo... jumping over the hood of a small ass Kia for a basic two hand dunk was all spectacle and less impressive and I'm sure Kia having that NBA sponsorship for the first year and having the next big star or guy who was having a crazy rookie season and had mad hype participating in all 3 days of the all star weekend in LA and playing for a LA team had some influence or just pre planned to have him win.. to me the 360 and the KIA dunks both were definitely not 50s

He's not a bonehead, you can tell by his creativity with these dunks and how well spoken he is in interviews. It's just that his bball IQ is low for some reason and he makes a lot of mistakes.

The first 3 were some of the best dunk contest dunks I've seen as far as creativity and visually.

Yeah I think javale got robbed and they pre planned Blake winning with the weekend being in LA thst year and I think it was the first year of that KIA NBA sponsorship 🙄

11 years and nobody has duplicated his 2 rim dunk and 3 balls dunk..

The two hand dunk by McGee is this contest was one of the best that I've seen. Plus JaVale is one of my favorite Centers in the NBA.

Javale McGee honestly should've been the first 7 footer to win the Slam Dunk contest. Nothing against Blake Griffin and his dunk over the front end of that Kia Optima, but BOTH of these dunks McGee did were never been done before OR have been done since. A dominant center, maybe not. But most DEFINITELY an athletic and well balanced one. 😁

This was the year the dunk contest died. The second they started adding props, it turned into a joke. Blake never should've won this year. Even the announcers were like, "I don't know if THAT should be the winner"

This was a great contest. All 4 brought it and had a case. Derozan did like two sick dunks. Ibaka dunked from the FT line. It was really just rigged for Blake.

Some of the most creative dunks I ever saw.. THREE BASKETBALLS.... The hang time alone earns him the title!

I'm half-convinced he took a dive on that last dunk.

Yup. Not to mention Griffin jumped over the hood, the lowest part of the car. If he jumped over the roof that would have been a pretty remarkable athletic feat, but he just dunked over the hood of a Kia. JaVale got robbed big time. Blake just had a flashy presentation with the car.
