Hello, hello!!! Big question: can anyone explain us the difference between 'candi' and 'pura'? We saw 'pura' in Bali and 'candi' in Java. I thought it was based on Hinduism vs Buddhism, but Prambanan is 'candi' and Hindu 🤔. And by the way, Gordon is still dreaming of his candies... 🍬🍭🍫 😁 😆 😅 😂 🤣

I thought temples that called "Pura" might be because it still uses for prayer until now (Some Pura even strict for prayer only), meanwhile "Candi" not particularly uses for prayer nowadays, eventho' it's still use for some ceremonial like Waisak Festival

pura is just like a church, mosque, or vihara. But candi is a historical place but mostly its about buddhism and hinduism kingdom at the past.

pura is an absolute place of worship by the Hindu religion, but if the temple(candi) is a religious building a place of ancient relics originating from Hindu-Buddhist civilization. This building is used as a place of worship of the gods or glorify the Buddha. However, the term 'temple' is not only used by the community to refer to places of worship, many non-religious ancient sites from the classical Hindu-Buddhist period of Indonesia, both as palaces (kraton), baths (petirtaan), gates, etc. , also called the temple.

Yakin udah pernah dari Sabang sampe Merauke? Banyak loh org Indo dari luar pulau yg blom dapet kesempatan Dateng ke situs2 sejarah spt candi2 di Jawa & Bali. Kalau emang dari video ini dpt gambaran yg bagus, so why gitu loh what's the issue?? 🤣 Bahkan yg mugar pertama kali candi Borobudur itu org Inggris, sir Raffles. Padahal itu udah dari abad 6-8, org2 baru mugar candi Borobudur di abad 19 Krn Rafles. Itu sebelum Rafles, org2 lokal juga banyak yg tau kalau ada candi di sana tapi ga sadar kalo bahkan Segede ini Krn ketimbun tanah. Jadi gimana?? Thomas Raffles aja sadar kemegahan Borobudur, kita blom tentu. Penemuan2 sejarah & prasejarah di Indo banyak banget loh yg ditemukan & diteliti sama org Luar, jadinya kita juga belajar teori & temuan mereka. Emang situ sbg org indo pernah nemuin sesuatu yg penting? Engga kan?? Beban negara iya🤣 Toh jg kalo kita pelajari temuan2 mereka, itu apa kalau g belajar kehebatan nenek moyang kita sendiri dari org luar?🤣🤣🤦🤦

I've been to all these places yearsss ago including Borobudur. They are such gorgeous places! Prambanan is my favorite. Actually in Borobudur, the beautiful carvings allover the temple is a story. It even have jokes on them! I hope you can come back to Indonesia soon. There is still sssooooooo much to explore! i love your channel Renata, I wish you all the best xo :)

when I was at college I was given the task of reporting on the temples around my place of residence. and the key guard of a temple told me a simple trick that distinguishes the Hindu and Buddhist temples. Hindu temple designs are usually built extending high upwards, while Buddhist temples are built wide to the side. You can see the difference clearly in the visuals of Prambanan and Borobudur.

No, Lumbung, Bubrah, Sojiwan, etc is built upward but it's Buddhists temple. The simplest difference between Buddhists temple and Hindu temple is on the roof of the temple. The Buddhists temple have stupa, and the Hindu have meru/ratna. Usually Buddhists candi decorations is more collaborative than Hindu one. Prambanan is different case ofc.

When i Saw Prambanan for the first time, i am Amazed, and i thought about people back then when this temple just finished built. How did they feel when people like us that have seen many high rise building still Amazed with Prambanan? I bet they must felt so religiously mesmerised just like the one that do pilgrimage to Mecca or Vatican or Tibet

Most people only visit the Prambanan Temple, whereas in the Prambanan Temple Complex there are several other temples, such as the Lumbung Temple, Bubrah Temple, and sewu Temple. That's what makes the park quiet, because most tourists only see the Prambanan temple 😥

Hopefully you can explore Sumatera, after this. Thanks for sharing to the world how beautiful is Indonesia. Yes, Indonesia is still developing and whats great...we foreigners are allowed to visit and witness the transformation. Please come to Lampung Province after pandemic you can see the elephants at Way Kambas National Park, Tanjung Setia Beach, and Kiluan Bay you can see the dolphins. And if you interest in the culture you can visit Cirebon in West Java to see Topeng Losari.

What i love the most about renata's vlog was she told us everything about the places that she had visited, aside from her contagious laugh and Gordon's expression 😂😂😂, If you comeback again to Indonesia for traveling, you have to visit Lake Toba in North Sumatra province, Sumatera Island as the largest volcanic lake in the world with samosir island in the middle of the lake that emerge with bataknesee culture like Bali as well, I swear it is so breathtaking especially its scenery and many more around Lake Toba 👏👏👏🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩 God bless you and Gordon
