Why are we monitoring Jmeter’s heap? We should be monitoring heap of application under test. Moreover it is not recommended to run Load test from Jmeter’s GUI, you should be running it from command line

Agree, one should monitor heap of application under test and always try to use Non-GUI mode for perftest

I have one doubt. I am running my load test using master and salve concepts using the JMeter tool. Now, in the middle of the test, like after 30 minutes in one of the load generators (slave machines), I got a heap size issue. Now, how do I analyse the heap dump? I have to open Java VisualVM in the master machine or particular load generator (slave machine). In order to analyse heap memory for the load generator (slave machine), do I need to open Java VisualVM on all the machines(master and 6 slave machines), or only the master machine? please help me here. Thanks.

I think you are trying to monitor the client side heap memory (jmeter in particular) not server side.
