A thing I found ( more funny than annoying ) is when you try to attack endermans. They just try to teleport around and they get too far and lose aggro. Also some other changes are like boats don't cancel fall damage but you are completely fine on a horse. Trying to do a water mlg is also way more harder, small berry bushes don't slow you and you can run while having frost walker as in java you can only walk for it to activate. Redstone is different, piglins can't reach gold easely. They think like if they can't physically get there, they can't pick it up. The hunger is scuffed. It runs out like 10x faster when you run, but never when you want to eat to regenerate. Theres no saturation heal like when you eat a steak in java. Ghasts are really laggy when trying to shot. Skeletons are pretty much aimbots. Reflecting projectiles works even with llamas spit. Impailing works for any mob that's in water. Soul speed is really weird. Thans all that I can think right now

Just some things to know about bedrock edition: Since combat is different in Bedrock Edition axes are weaker than swords but still able to disable shields, also to raise your shield you have to crouch (This actually became better in 1.19 with the new swift sneek enchantment) There are no Spectral arrows in Bedrock Edition but there are arrows of decay which you can only get by trading with a Fletcher (Wither Effect) The Impaling enchantment is very overpowered, it can affect any mobs that are in water or standing in the rain, level 5 impaling is a lot more powerful than a Sharpness V Netherite sword Trading is different in Bedrock Edition, for example Armorers will only sell 2 pieces of diamond armor instead of a full set like I've seen in Java edition, an farmers will only buy one type of crop from you in bedrock edition Health regeneration is slower in Bedrock Edition, and hunger used to drain very quickly but luckily this was fixed Hopefully we see more parity between both versions in the future.

The first thing I noticed when I started playing Bedrock is that saturation doesn't burst heal you. A golden Carrot will still boost your saturation way up, but that doesn't actually heal you the same way it does in Java. In Java, when your hunger is full, Saturation is rapidly consumed to rapidly restore hearts. In Bedrock, Saturation is gradually depleted as you passively regenerate health, sprint, jump, etc. It functions merely to delay how often you need to eat.

I found it so funny when you realized that you can't put torches in your offhand. I'm a mainly bedrock player but I've been playing java a lot more recently. For me, it's less of "what's different" and more of "what's missing from this version" Bedrock feels a little simple and slowed down, with java it seems more endless and complex and things can happen so fast. I still haven't gotten used to the fact zombies can detect you from such a massive range. I also hate how the maps don't have a pointer when you go off of them. It's hard to explain in words, but in bedrock, if im not in the area for the map, the cursor on the side still points in the direction im going/facing. Making finding buried treasures and structures so much easier to do. I ALSO FUCKING HATE HOW YOU GLIDE IN CREATIVE ON JAVA EDITION. And you stop flying the second you hit the ground in creative too. In bedrock, when you're flying in creative when you stop you stop exactly where you are. Absolutely no gliding, and to me, that was such a major difference that I actively avoided playing java for a while. I've sorta gotten used to it, but I still hate it so much. I wish there was a way to turn it off. And the fact you stop floating the second you touch the ground in java pisses me off too. I only played mobile bedrock so you need to double-click to stop flying, (it's been a while so I might be wrong). I miss being able to just float along the floor and it makes such a massive difference when your building is creative. I can't properly explain it in words. Go try the other versions of creative mode. I bet there are things you wish your version had and things you are glad your version doesn't have. But all the differences aside, both versions feel like Minecraft. And they are both so fun to play with or without friends. I just play what most of my other friends can play. And that's Minecraft bedrock edition.

The thing is that this is very subjective. Some people might like Java more and some people might like Bedrock more. There is no superior version in my opinion, that will depend on the player. But these "version wars" are still stupid, in my opinion. It is still Minecraft at its core.

I’ve been playing bedrock for well over 9 years and it’s entertaining to see how your reacting to something for the first time that I’ve been exposed too for so long haha. On controllers, It can be somewhat wonky but you’ll get the hang out of it overtime. For me, there’s always been issue with the movement and the mobs. One is that when I’m trying to run away when I’m about to die from mobs, I have to repeat the action multiple times just to be able to run, there has been times where I actually died because of it. Two is that mobs are honestly overwhelming to deal with unless you have netherite with some forms of protection on it because skeletons are very dangerous because of how accurate they are and how fast they shoot when your approaching them. I fought the warden in creative and even then, with the movement issue and all, it was downright one of the most scary moments I’ve ever had in Minecraft. Withers are extremely destructive too since they break every block they touch.

I honestly disagree with the parity thing. I still think bedrock is the worse version, yet it is favoured by Microsoft since it is easier to monetise. I fear that any parity updates will "bring the games closer together" by forcing bedrock features onto java, which will kinda ruin java. Let them be seperate games. There's nothing wrong with that.

Bro this is the best bedrock vs java video I have seen! I play both versions of Minecraft and have played on many devices too. I love finding out the little differences that make Bedrock seem a bit janky and you pointed out so many that I have never noticed! Here are some features I wish were different on Bedrock edition: -Different movement; more similar to Java where the player has more control over their position. In Java when you let go of forward for example it feels like you stop almost instantly but in bedrock edition, stopping feels more delayed. Every player motion in Bedrock feels slightly delayed and thus worse to me, so I have less control than when I play Java. -I also wish the GUI wasn't so animated. Every time you open your inventory or a chest, you have to wait half a second for the menu to slide up before you can actually do anything. It is really frustrating in survival especially when inventory management is so difficult, making you constantly have to go into a chest or open your inventory. These animations are also slow when it comes to shift clicking items around inventories, or even just pausing the game! It feels horrible to have to wait every time I have to access a menu. (Don't get me started on the main menu).

I think in 1.18, the mob cap was raised from its old limit of 8 mobs to 16. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop the issue of the slower spawn rate on bedrock. Java rushes to fill all spots in the mob cap, while bedrock does so at a much slower rate. Also the density caps work better to make things difficult on Java.

Another fun difference that I’ve experienced somewhat recently playing a bedrock realm with a friend is the difference in ancient debris mining. What I mean is that there’s almost no pools of lava just randomly hidden when mining. There’s still the 1x1 holes of lava, but nothing that cannot be blocked up in a second or two. Additionally, there’s “caves” in the nether towards the bottom of the world and blocks like basalt from the basalt deltas biome don’t generate deep down where most ancient debris mining happens making it easier to go straight for long periods uninterrupted.

okay after finishing the video I've gotta say, I'm feeling pretty grateful for the things BE has that JE doesn't, such as our tipped arrows, dying leather armour, etc. (tho i miss when we could also dye it in the crafting table lol) and the wither on java is so weak, I'm fairly sure the health on bedrock is also almost double. first time i beat a java wither (crossplay server mainly catering to java players) I was so shocked that I beat it in less than 5 minutes with no deaths?? and i probably could've gone with iron stuff too. I'm also now aware of some things I didn't think about before, mostly the visuals. I've only ever played pocket edition and PlayStation, so I was honestly surprised a lot of these are bedrock exclusive. I think it's good im used to bedrock cuz it seems that going from java to bedrock is harder than bedrock players switching to java lol. I'll end my rambling here but this kind of opened my eyes a bit to all the differences between the two versions, not just in gameplay but in even visuals and rendering and stuff. makes me wonder why exactly these things are different, and if there's a reason mojang hasn't really tried to make the versions more similar (tho imo i like us having these differences between versions)

  • @Eyecraftmc

All these issues will likely be fixed “eventually”. The thing is, the dirt, the slimmed out grass and foliage, They're kind of minor issues. the bigger the issues the more urgent it is to fix them and hooo-boooy have there been major fixes. Pretty much every single update has had at least one major parity fix and dozens of minor ones that it can be kind of crazy trying to keep track of what’s left to fix. This update, they totally fixed the wither’s hyper busted wither effect, rebalanced the combat and hunger mechanics. Last update was kind of huge, but i still recall a massive wall of parity changes. Before that we got the mob despawning changes which were a huuuuge deal. So yeah, bedrock has seen changes to fundamental systems constantly that even the somewhat weaker updates for Java were hype to me due to the crazy parity fixes. Buzzy bees was nuts to me, Java had some good fixes but it paled in comparison to what was happening in bedrock. Bedrock has been on a roll for the past few years in terms of parity so yeah, visual features that are still passable will fly by.

Mojang said themselves that they will not add building on the nether roof because of it being a bug and shouldn't even exist on Java. We are stuck in old combat due to problems on mobile devices. Also i don't like the marketplace. also you cannot get custom servers on bedrock edition unless you are on windows or mobile devices. Also you can turn off the little character in the top of your screen in the video settings. Sorry for the message.

The wither wasn’t nerfed, protection was fixed in bedrock. It used to not protect against magic (potion) damage, thus making the wither effect from the wither do full damage and one shot you no matter the armor. There were also other things such as instant damage being absurdly op, being able to 2 shot anyone regardless of armor.

I've switched to bedrock for the time to play with friends, as a technical player I had to do alot of research. Mobs only spawn on the NW pixel of a block. Structure spawn are static, passive mobs respawn, pigman tick spawning on relit portals. You have to introduce a tick into duct tape systems. Tnt doesn't have 100% harvest rate (cringe). Statis chambers are unreliable, efficiency 5 and haste 2 lets you insta mine logs, theres a good handful of blocks that have incorrect resistances. Chest cause lag, You can breed cracked out horse. Trident killers are amazing, designed a 2 player rabbit farm that gets 2 1/2 stacks of rabbit feet in a hour of afking using mechanics exclusively to bedrock. Main reason Bugrock was so bad is that mobs literally wouldn't despawn until 1 major version ago lol. Filling up the already abysmal mob cap instantly. I've gotten alot of farms working in bedrock, 1.5k gunpowder, 1.9k blaze rods, 1.9k coal, 2.8k bones, 2.8k froglights, 190 wither skulls, 1.2k string, 4.2k rotten flesh, 1.1k gold ingots, 657 leather, 103k sugar cane, 2.5k logs, 5k slime, 6k ink sacs. 169 rabbit feet. All hourly rates on my realm. Bedrock has come in a good way, but more must be done.

As someone who has built alot of BE redstone after playing java for ever, it's consistent. Piston firing is weird if you're activating several in the same redstone tick. The lack of Quasi just means thing tend to be alot bulkier.

I play both bedrock and java (im a friends pleaser cause some of them only have one of these) and i didn't notice lots of the things you mentioned, so thats really cool, but the biggest difference to me personally is entity cramming. The simplest redstone chicken and cow farms become SO OP in bedrock since you can basically have literally infinity of chickens constantly laying eggs. I remember i used to get a chest full of cooked chicken every hour with a super small farm and my mind was blown when i first built it in java edition. I felt spoiled (youre telling me i need to kill animals.. manually???), also i used to mlg with a water bucket on top of trees a lot in bedrock so i took a lot of damage playing java before i got rid of that habit. But now im way more used to java :DD

Java players thinks bedrock players always buy something in marketplace but bedrock players can download 'em freely in other website 4. Bedrock players is angry and trying to fight it 5. Java players will use anything to compared bedrock 6. Java players always use 'bugrock' word and thats annoying

It always bothers me when people complain the Bedrock wither is too hard… I’ve been playing Bedrock for a while. Mainly because it’s cross-platform. I’ve also survived fighting multiple withers. It isn’t difficult, rather people who say that don’t know how to fight it. The fourth skull is always blue, & can be deflected. If it hits the wither & damages it, the wither will sometimes be stunned, & open to attacks. It also always shoots in a four skull burst. The difficulty influences the speed of the burst. Normal & hard difficulty will cause the wither to spawn wither skeletons at half health. Difficulty also affects the wither’s health. Wither gains a sort of dash ability at half health. But if anything, I usually end up modding the wither fight to make it harder. It’s honestly too easy for me. Though to be fair, there was a time where I constantly just fought them for fun.
