La Jawab. Both are at their best, inspiring each other. Doubt whether they would have performed so well if sung individually. Pranams to the entire team.

I came here after i heard in pandit ji's interview in shakshiyat... He said he created this because natural scales of men and women are different why one should higher or lower their scale💓 and rendering different raaga is a genius💓 which seems such a collaborated i just love jasrangi!

I have heard Sanjeev Abhyankar couple of times and also heard Ashwini Bhide previously,both being great singers. The chemistry between the singers is excellent.

I AGREE . IN BETWEEN TALKS SPOILS EVERYTHING , EVEN PRODUCERS ARE REQUESTED NOT DO SUCH ATTEMPTS IN BETWEEN. ULTIMATELY W ARE ALSO PUTTING OUR VALUABLE TIME . HOPE PRODUCERS WILL TAKE A NOTE OF IT

@@ArtAndArtistes But please correct the description - this is a wonderfil concept & some listeners may not be able to ID the Raagas.

Very tough concept to perform on the stage. High level concentration is required as both are performing different raags. The mind can be get diverted easily. Great performance. Hats of to them.

The concept of Jasrangi (after Pt Jasraj ) itself is fantastic and hence Durga Jasraj being his daughter has naturally every right to intervene and break the flow of divine soor not to speak of audience's untimely clapping (inserted by the video editor of channel without understanding the music) and distracting the light effects at the back ground. But then what to do? In the first place Indian Classical music is at back stage of the entertainment so we have to bear with all these odds. Commercial breaks are of utmost importance . all other things are just a decoration to these breaks and breakers.

+Janardan Murhekar Ok the clapping is idiotic, but if the TV producers did not insert commercial breaks then they would earn nothing from the program and we would not get to watch any of it. The amplification in the studio is fantastic. Personally I would like to hear this rather than not simply due to my intolerance of commercial breaks

Kalavati and Abhogi.... two of my favorite ragas. Especially the way their avaroha goes. I do not pretend to be very knowledgeable but to my ears the "coming down" part is just beautiful in both ragas. Add to that the beautiful voices of Dr. Bhide and Pt. Sanjeevji, this is probably what being in heaven feels like. I had the privilege of listening to a jasrangi by these two in person once in Pune ( Madhuvanti and Malkauns I think). Thank you for the upload.

Some of the words are solfege equivalents in Hindustani music. The equivalent of "do re mi fa sol la ti do" is "sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa". They sing that at the start to introduce the notes in this raag/composition. This part is known as the "alaap", I think. The following is a literal translation of what they are singing, open to interpretation, of course. I am not a musician or expert by any means, this is just my understanding of what they are singing. "Sur Saagar apaar" --> "melody and the ocean are infinite/cannot be crossed" "Ras ki saritan dhaar" --> "the flow of the nectar (not sure what "saritan" means). "Goonjat chalkat barsat" --> "the echo and the glimpses pour" "To re ghar ras barasat" --> "in your house pour these juices" Show less
