Jason Williams Is Physically Incapable of Making a Routine Chest Pass

February 12, 2000 - Second year Kings guard Jason Williams embraced the freewheeling nature of All-Star Weekend and turned in an entertaining, if not efficient, nine points and five assists.

Yes, great show for all-star weekend! It didn't work as well in the regular season, and as he got older he dropped the excessive flash from his game, and became an efficient point guard. I would love to see him play with the Harlem Globetrotters or AND 1 for a season or just a game.

I remember seeing that elbow pass and then going outside to practice it against the side of the garage. I must have hit it 100 times until I could get it on target while on the run. Once I felt comfortable with it I started using it in pickup games and then I broke it out once in a high school game, only once though because my coach almost had a meltdown, haha. I still try it playing pick up ball every once in a while, the older guys like me who remember watching J-Will get a kick out of it. Oh shit, have I become one of the old guys at the gym? They like to see those 150-151 scores and side note a team like Houston they love cause they can score 120-130 a night but also give up the same amount so the scores always high and “more exciting”

I'm old enough to remember watching this live. That pass was such a big deal, I remember everyone talking about it that week in school. J-Will was one of my favorite players growing up, as he was fun and entertaining to watch, but if I'm being honest, the Kings were a much better team once they traded him for Mike Bibby in 2001. That's when they became true title contenders. They would have won the title in 2002 if not for the now infamous Game 6 of the 2002 WCF against the Lakers that Tim Donaghy admitted was fixed for the Lakers to win.

Ryan you're just cherry picking, the play they kept replaying at the end was Raef LaFrentz taking a pass from Williams. Both of those guys would have a hard time making the league today. Valanciunas is one of the best young C's in the league. Antic, well I agree w/ you 100% on that one haha.

I saw the elbow pass by a globetrotter in the 60s. It was the only trick move I tried to develop. I never was able to use it in a game where I didn't think I would embarrass myself and cost my team two points. The actual mechanics is easy. It's the pace, angles, and timing during live play that make it difficult. I'm sure many of us had our favorite globetrotter moves. Jason's creativity was amazing. He took in game ball handling and passing to another level.

You serious? This guy was never anything more than flash. Sub 40% from the field. Not even a 2 assist to turnover ratio which is pathetic for a PG. Not 11 ppg or 6 assist per game. Forget GOAT, at no point in his career was he the best player on the court.
