Jason Vale's Why Juice Guide

Every food on the planet has come under some criticism with the notable exception of fruit and vegetables. These foods nourish every cell in the body, help prevent disease, flush the system of waste and contain more vitamins and minerals than you can rattle a plum at, and there isn’t a single person on the planet with any shred of common sense that could possibly argue against these magnificent foods!

    I watched your video on the difference between a blender and juice extractor yesterday. Decided a juicer is best for me as I have a blender but don’t use it as I hate the pulp in the drink. Walked into the mall today and they had a slow juice on special for 40% down. Perfect. Just made a quick juice with 8 large carrots and 3 oranges. Nothing else in and I was blown away by how good it tasted. I am all on board for getting my veggies in now. Thank you for your videos.

    new to your channel - love you presentations and recipes. I'm just starting to get into juicing and one concern was the sugar. Although fruits give us natural sugar that is better than refined sugars, it's sugar nonetheless; nature's dessert. Why I've been drawn to your recipes is because you actually make green drinks with hints of fruit. Since I'm new to juicing I cannot assert that daily fruit smoothies are bad for you but (even if better than refined) I wouldn't want a pineapple,banana,date,spinach smoothie daily. Based on your knowledge, what are your thoughts? Also - your recipes that utilize fruits such as mango or pear; do you use ripe fruits or juice them when they're still hard???? Thanks for your time! and even if your don't have the time to respond to this, Thanks for your channel!!! :)

  • @organicafarm

    great concern! Always use the 20/80 rule. Always use 80%+ of vegetables to 20% fruit. This is always a good rule of thumb if sugar is a concern (which it can be). Many green juices simply don't require additional fruit and sugars... Hope this helps!

    By using a slow juicer and a blender combination to make a drink, will there be any nutrient loss when using a blender to blend the juice (from slow juicer ) and a avocado/ banana?

  • @tkdguy5494

    @tkdguy5494

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yes. It might seem like you're doing a good thing by making a juice and then blending it, the blending causes even more oxidation and will destroy nutrients. It's better to keep them separate. There are a couple of studies that demonstrate blending destroys more nutrients than slow juicers. So the last thing you want to do is blend the juice especially when the idea of the slow juicer was to preserve the nutrients in the first place.

  • @nailnerdz

    @nailnerdz

    I've learned it depends what your goal for juicing is. When we consume fiber, our body diverts cellular energy to digesting & away from healing. The point of juicing, for me anyway, is to super infuse my body with healing nutrients, thru 6-10 servings of juiced veggies and fruits for breakfast. I get fiber later throughout the day when I consume another 5-10 servings of veggies & fruits whole. I also learned another way blood sugar spikes can be eliminated is by liquifying cholesterol with raw flax seed oil... cholesterol in our cells acts as a block for blood sugar to reach the cell & be converted to energy. Without the cholesterol, the cell converts the sugar to energy so it doesn't stay in the blood raising the blood sugar.

    Yes and no. By juicing you will get the extra nutrients but unfortunately even if you wash your fruits and veggies you're still going to get a dose of pesticides. Fruit plants really absorb those chemicals really well. The ground will filter a little bit out but the roots will drink in whatever is left. It is what it is. Do what is available and affordable. Don't go broke juicing.

    Whow! You just summed it up for me. I am a vegan for 15 years now and I always wondered how on earth you possibly can eat 5 or even 10 handsfull of veggies and fruits every single day. It‘s impossible if you try to make a meal out of it, besides, you‘ll always end up with some leftovers which don‘t fit in a recipe. The only way is really to juice it, I believe.

    I have never juiced, not once in my 56+ years of life. I have just recently realized how much I love smoothies.... 2 weeks now of doing a morning smoothie. Can I incorporate juicing into a smoothie? I am not now, nor have I ever been a veggie lover... now, because of a health condition and a hidden side effect of the medication I was put on, I have no teeth. Hence in the last 4 years I have not had any veggies unless they are cooked or steamed soft enough to eat. Not so sure I would like juicing since I have not enjoyed eating very many veggies. That's why I am wondering if I can turn my juice into a smoothie.

    Smoothies have freshly extracted juice in them, a blend is where you have just blended your produce in it's entirety. Sounds like you would definitely benefit from a couple of juices thrown in. Our recipes are amazing you can't taste the veggies as they are mixed in with delicious fruits. I good place to start would be a mix of of both worlds with the Juice n Blend plan. shop.juicemaster.com/pages/juice-blend-diet Amy@JuicyHQ. X

    Your gut does need some of those fruit and veggie fibers, it's prebiotic. Those "portions" make no sense.😂 Juicing allows the body to suck up nutrients faster and more nutrients, without the added work of fully digesting. I like to a put little bit of the leftover pulp and a little water in the blender, then add it to my juice. It a full bodied juice.

    I’m sorry but that comment about overweight people not eating fruit and veg is a real generalisation. Some are overweight because of medical conditions

    My least favourite thing is fruit, so for me to turn it into juice or a smoothie is perfect. I’d rather drink it than eat tons of fruit.

    Bulk = The fiber that feeds the microbiome. Microbiome controls nutrient uptake in the stomach. Juicing is old school... mostly for dying old people who can’t hold solids down.

    Fiber is the most important because probiotics eat fiber and produce vitamins

    What a sin! Throwing away all that wonderful fiber that feeds the microbiome, that in turn controls nutrient uptake in the stomach for your body. Juicing is old school... mostly for dying old people who can’t hold solids down. You will be hungry faster when juicing.
