eric, this kind of content furthers the divide between the unhoused and privileged americans. this doesn't actually help people, this is mining them for content and for the promotion of your personal social media goals. i'm not sure why this was recommended to me -- maybe because i watch the excellent channel "invisible people", which is a good example of how to approach unhoused people from a place of humility. your privilege is extremely palpable in how you deal with this dude. he doesn't need an "uplifting note" from you. he's been through shit you could NEVER imagine. what he needs is system change. for people to come together and actually care. that means not pimping him out for a camera, for your fucking social media strategy, but to actually get on his level and see him as a human rather than as some kind of carnival freak you can use for likes. Pure American capitalist dystopia.

Hey Louis! With all videos, my intention is to try and provide a voice to those who are often silenced, while also giving as much help and resources as I possibly can; at the stage that I’m at. You’re 100% correct that he’s been through things I couldn’t imagine! To that point, that’s why I’m trying to find a common ground to connect to him, while also showcasing to the audience that we can all find a common ground in some way or another. Finally, Invisible People is a great channel; there’s some great insight im sure I can continue to learn from them and others alike.
