    As a 2 hander i still pratice 1 handed. My body wont be able to do this forever. I started taking bowling serious 2 years ago. Since then ive been in the alley a minimum of 2 days a week for 2+ hours. It has paid off so well. I started shooting 150-160s to having a 190-200 average but my body hurts constantly anymore

    Don't be so sure. It's been proven that 2 handed bowling is better for you than 1 handed. Biomechanically speaking. Even the head coaches for webber international teaches the elderly in his area 2 handed because it's easier on the body. So if you do it right, you shouldn't have any issue. (This is coming from a collegiate 1 hander as well

    I feel that. I've done over 20 practice games in the past week getting my average up to 120 and my highest game of 192. My right knee and wrist hurt like hell but the odd thing is every time I'm in pain and decide to have another go it just kinda goes away when I'm on the approach. Gotta grind and get good before my age catches up, I'm only 22.

    Not sure why during a tournament Belmo would even have a ball with a thumbhole around. Unless he’s borrowing someone else’s ball, in which case it would be quite a coincidence if it came close to fitting him.

    People make comments about two handers like it makes the game 'easier'. It absolutely does not. If that was the case, if there were 50 two handed bowlers on the tour, they would be 1-50, and the one handers would be below that. Most of the top ten on the PBA are one handed. You still have to make shots and make spares. Why people thing two handed bowling has made the sport easier, is because youth bowlers are no longer as physically restricted, can throw heavier balls, and therefore can start learning legitimate competitive shot making at a younger age. Because two handed has been mainstream in youth leagues for at least a decade, that means you have a flood of young bowlers in their 20s or younger that have been able to practice the sport at a true competitive level for far longer than before two handed came along. Back then, because of physical strength limitations, kids weren't throwing heavier balls, or putting real revs on until they were close to teenage years, some later. Now you see vids of 7 and 8 year olds doing skillful shot making. And so by the time you see all of these young adult bowlers, they've been doing adult level shot making since they were 9 or 10. You're not seeing an 'easier' sport. You're just seeing a hell of a lot more young bowlers that have been properly learning and practicing shot making for far longer than young bowlers of the same age 20 years ago. Real talent is just coming to the sport a lot earlier now.

    It just shows 2 handed bowlers struggle when they dont get the extra power and revs from 2 handed bowling. People bowl 2 handed to get babysat by the extra power revs and pin action 2 handed gets you. You also have to be way more accurate 1 handed then you do 2 handed. 2 handed is a joke

    Belmonte is a great bowler. He's the GOAT for winning majors but not the GOAT overall. Walter Ray Williams has won 47 regular PBA titles, not including his 50 and 60 tour titles. Belmonte is tied with Williams for most POY titles. I'm sure Williams has won the most money. The GOAT overall is Williams.

  • @OneHandedBowling

    Don't undermine Belmo imo, he is only 40 and has had to bowl against other insane bowlers, although Walter is great, I doubt he would have had the same domination if he bowled in the current state of the tour. While Walter does have some of the best stats of all time, the amount of talent on the tour currently is insane and the games have only gotten harder. Belmonte is sure to have an insane career in the pba 50 tour in about 10 years. Also don't forget that belmo didn't bowl about a year of non majors due to being from australia during covid.

    Walter bowled in WAY more tournaments to get those wins, and Belmo is 40. He will most likely have the most titles and BY FAR the most majors by the end, it won't even be remotely close anymore. There's only a couple bowlers on tour right now even the realm of being on pace for keeping up with him, and that's if they don't decline with age.

    Real bowlers bowl with one hand. Two hands should not be allowed. Belmonte is okay but he is not that good. I’d love to see him bowl consistently with one hand. It’s how the game is played. None of this two handed crap. Sit down Jason

  • @OneHandedBowling

    @OneHandedBowling

    How would you consider two handed cheating exactly? One handed has been the most effective until around a couple years ago once they started to make harder and harder patterns (which is when belmo historically succeeds at). If you consider one style harder or easier maybe try it out in a practice session before knocking skilled professionals for using it. Two handers don't use any illegal equipment or any other different things than one handers, only main difference is a lower swing with an immensely powerful release caused by wrist support from the swing. Technically a two handed style isn't actually two handed (with a one handed release). Two handers simply use a different strategy and if its not a real style then how come two handers are consistently making telecasts with success.

    @@OneHandedBowlingtwo handed bowlers use a different strategy? Come on now. All you do is use two hands to roll the ball down the lane. That is the strategy that real bowlers/one handed bowlers use as well. Two handers can’t bowl worth for anything with one hand so they switch. It’s pathetic. It’s all a show and an attention grabber. Plus two handed bowling is not a one handed release if you really think about it. You are releasing with two hands and pushing it down the lane for more control. That is why they “bowl better.” That’s the logical part of it. Two handed bowling should be illegal and not be allowed. Enough said. And I know what I am talking about. Mic drop
