I belive all artists have different qualities which makes them unique. Uday sir has an amazing understanding of the raag (I've heard quite a few concerts of his and his exploration of any particular raaga is very detailed!) But i don't think I'll call him the best! ❤️

@@prakharvighnesh5492 bilkoul, also many member of Dagar Family and of Asad Ali Khans family (although mostly veena players, famiy also produced several singers along the 7 to 11 generation of lineage). I feel uday ji ,Pranam to him ,would himself find this assertion of him being the greatest of all time humorous. However there are few current performers who I could say are above this artist . There are perhaps some artists in Dagar family still living who are greater (few died over the last few years sadly ). The only artist,s I can thnk of who would be generally seen as being greater are all at an age where they cannot perform quite as they used to . The physical demands on the body and respiratory ect ,the length and protection of the swar,the complex and detailed exploration ,70 to 90 year old will not sound as they did at the peak of their lifes. I believe Uday ji is the best current perfomer nowadays taking these things into consideration

This style of the oldest tradition of Indian classical music can be enjoyed the best by intensely focusing on the musical notes. Pure notes along with their transitional intra notes in Raga form vividly create the meditative mood in befitting mood, which is the speciality of Shripad Dhamar style of singing. Udayji carries with himself the listeners to a different world. Very nicely sung.

Above all it's a wonderful presentation.It also creates a wonderful feeling . I have enjoyed this presentation several times but still I eager to listen it again and again .

@Mvs M Yes Alap is basically like an improvisation to introduce the mood and structure of the Raga. Jhala on the contrary is a fast paced conclusion. The vocal component is often (not always) overwhelmed by the rhythmic component. The same ( vocal + percussion) is performed on the Veena by the chikaari strings I think. However not too sure about this. May be this is a later innovation in vocal though haven't come across any such rendition on Veena yet.

@Mvs M Uday ji is occassionally accompanied by Bahauddin Dagar but generally he performs solo ( say like R. Fahimuddin Dagar)..
