I heard him (ustad) many years later. I used to listen to his raag regularly through audio cassettes. Today I am happy to see again his magical performance. Love from Bangladesh ❤️

Rest in paradise ustad Rashid Khan sir, "aaoge jab tum saajana" is one of my forever favourites.

Sublime, as usual. Rashid Khan is the best. When I first heard him many, many years back, I had felt as though the Heavens opened and God sang. His voice has a kind of primal, original beauty. Like thunder. The deep and profound melody at the heart of the cosmos. Rabindranath Thakur has a song, 'ki dhwani baaje gahana chetana majhe' set to raag Poorvi, which speaks of the primal melody that fills his heart and being. Of course, Bhimshen Joshi ji is sublime, too.
