Fantastic episode. I love that Mike held his own against the guys and I also love that you all gave him plenty of time to present his points and make his case. Hate it or love it Jarv was pretty consistent from the jump and wasn't moving the goalpost. Mike was kind of all over the place, but I think that's cuz he didn't look at it as Mike vs Jarv but Mike vs RRT. Would love to see more of this in some capacity. Jay in my opinion has been carried by production to some extent after Hard Knock Life, so while I wouldn't agree with Mike's point I can understand why he would make it. As far as white rappers go, I fuck with Action, Aesop, and El-P more than any of the previously named melanin deficient rappers. Freddie Gibbs social media presence has been at war with his rap career for a while now and this is basically the chickens coming home to roost. Gibbs is extremely talented, but he has become the epitome of all publicity isn't good publicity. He got clowned when he got with this chick, he got clowned when Jim Jones beat him up, he got clowned when Benny had him beat up, he's been clowned from his back and forth with Ak, and now he's being clowned by his BM, all of which looks like he brought on himself outside looking in. The bad part is I think there's a lane for him in sketches/stand up/acting where he can get a lot of this off but mixing it so closely with his rap career isn't working for him at all.

overall I agree with Mike...Ye was the driving force, because he was ascending towards his breakthrough and championship run...and honestly Ye got just as much out of it being on Rocafella ...ala Em getting the Dre cosign imo.. ...the carried part is what got you guys pushin back but I don't think he's sayin Jay aint Jay without Ye....he's saying Jay was MJ and to everyones surprise Ye turned out to be Kobe ...and "Kobe" went on his Championship run with a sound and direction he started circa Blueprint 2...thats not taking anything away from Jay...its giving Ye his acknowledgement as a pure producer and album maker...its arguable sure but its a solid argument..when you line up all the hits and hit albums Ye has produced over his career its right there... ...Just 🔥 may have hit more game winning shots for a time during that early period...but in retrospect the playbook was Ye and the college dropout album run was Ye bringing home the rings in his prime and becoming a generational talent... ...but Mike bro you trippin sayin Hitboy aint "carry" Nas on the recent run 😆...the type of artists may be different but its the same thing... you had Hov as goat before the Kings Disease run like myself...Hitboy alone made a potential late Nas comeback win even possible imo 🏆

Dope comment but we’re pushing back on the “carried” part because that’s what he said and it was inaccurate. From 01 to present? Not accurate. Mike tried to make it seem like Jay wasn’t Jay w/o Ye when in reality he didn’t “need” Ye until 2009

Literally my whole point against Mike was to be careful giving Kanye so much credit because then u gonna have to give hitboy that same light if even more because hitboy literally revived Nas for 4 albums in a row lol

Nah Nas and Hit are carrying that 50/50. Nas is going on 50 and supposed to be out of his prime, but he is still rapping and getting better. Jay was in his prime when the work with Kanye was being done. That’s not the same at all.

How Nas got brought up in a Jay/Ye conversation boggles my mind but not on this channel To try and compare Hit-Boy producing for Nas 30 yrs in to Jay latching on with Ye 5 yrs after RD is just ludicrous, just shows y’all were flailing at that point RR as Mike was debating circles around y’all

Revisionist history. Ppl forget during MDBTF Ye was in the hot seat n Jay was the only A lister left in his corner. Their collaboration was partly Hov trying to keep Ye validated in the masses.

Bodied Mike D with the Hit Boy comparison. Exposed the naS 🍆 D ridin The goalpost movin was outrageous 3000 the 🐐. These guys out here with 3 verses per song, 3 opportunities to outdo Andre and cant. Agree with Deeni. These naS stans be talkin a lot on the internet but naS aint hittin like that on real ground in earth. Slow Jams was a Twista record. Thats why it was big. The anticipation for that new Twista was huge. Kingdom Come had some cuts Good show. Jarv a funny dude.
