No feelings needed. Jay made the better business moves. Us Nasirians believe Nas made the better music... our evidence? Better storyteller. Better lyrics. More diverse content. Longevity. Better albums... illmatic, it was written, Stillmatic, Godson, Lost tapes, Life is good, KD series, and Magic... Oh... we give Jay the notion of being more lit over nas but those albums ain't aging well... them club records like give it to me and hey papi ain't swinging in 2023

Secondly, BIG said Nas should get Lyricist of the year for 1995 source awards, and Biggie himself should get an album of the year. So those are 2 times that I can remember BIG saying that.

Nas is a true musical artist. He cares more about his music and culture than just being the hottest artist and making radio hits. He's lived in that lane for more than 80% of his career and is still in almost everybody's top five. That makes him number one to me because he's not on the radio. He's not in the clubs, He's not the most talked about or the most hottest artist on the list all the time but musically he sets himself apart from everybody because he stayed in his own lane. Didn't join other crews. Didn't piggy bank off anybody, didn't use the same producers as everybody else did. He didn't use a lot of features. He stood on his own. The king's disease trilogy is the first time he's actually ventured outside himself and he still hasn't compromised his style or stance on the music. It's like comparing Michael Jackson to Prince.

Nas got what he has from raps. So….just seems like a foolish thing to bring up. They both sold a lot of records, have hits, etc. Nas has the better discography at this point. Jay stopped and this channel has openly said they not even feeling 444. Nas on the other hand still rockin. Why deny? Nas had it, Jay had it and nas got it back. Jay just got to make music and if it’s dope then let’s talk. Until then 4 peat in full effect. Nas #1. Hope Jay make solo album again. If not and nas keep dropping then what y’all going to say? The fact is we already there. My theory Jay don’t know what to do. 444 was dropping knowledge, the irony, and so many of his fans poo poo it. So how do he grow in music? Nas aging in rap organically. ✌️

The fact that Kendrick at 2 is wild crazy to us and the round table provides supportive reasoning for the industry push and that it’s a force by the powers that be. He more like top 20 and we still watching to see how it plays out. Could move up or down. Nas, krs, kool g, Jay, etc have changed the course of this because now we have older legends still rapping when we didn’t have that always. I listened to a bunch of Hov joints in a row in the whip yesterday and, again, confirmed why some folks have been bamboozled by dude. The bragging raps. Not one song I heard didn't have a bar about him being the best. Dude knocked people over the head so much with that that the narrative stuck. He's got substance, yes, but most of his discography is littered with boastful, braggadocio rhyming consisting of lots brand name shout outs or the retelling of the stories of his days as a drug dealer. It's why his joints age so poorly; he's dated most of his once popular tracks. God Did was more of the same. Same story he told on Drug Dealers Anonymous and a slew of other tracks. NaS's music is timeless, mostly. He hardly brags. And Puff had it right in a Hate Me Now adlib when he said "You the best."

Are you sure that was all you heard, are you sure Nas don’t brag, do you know God Did verse is the Roc State on the union ? Unlike most of the rappers Jay just don’t rhyme for the sake off rhymes, his word have clear intentions, I mean these are his firs bars. “Yo, I'm making short term goals, when the weather folds Just put away the leathers and put ice on the gold” Look where he is now. Every rapper has a motif and a lance to see and apply his worldview. Have you ever counted how many times the word hood is on every Nas song or how many time the real Hip Hop os on every KRS one album. ? I heard more range on Jay music that what you just described. From Popular Mechanic, Parenting, philosophy, and theology, sport and of course money and the drugs. He has covered the whole spectrum of the human experience. I can tell you, Is have been so many year since I don’t see Jay talking about his rhymes, he is focused in more elevated statements for the culture and mastering his rhetoric with layers of meanings. I know Esco has range, but i feel the he knew he was running behind, he still worried trying to be the best rappers and still talking about that he is on fire and of course talking about his rhythms. “Only thing undefeated is time The second is the internet, number three is this rhyme” Yeah I thought the only thing undefeated was time, but he managed to find two other this after that. While the other guy is pushing legislation in real life. “The way we used to play with life I'm now careful with the sentences, them only jail bars I like” See you at MSG Feb 24

Their resume' are stronger than anyone else's in the game. When we discuss them, we can argue about who's the #1 spot all day long. But its only those 2 guys in the convo. And I feel what Eeze was saying. Its easy to put Pac and Big top 5, but we gotta put them somewhere else. A separate icon list. They are definitely on Mount Rushmore with Nas & Jay, but when we do our top 5 lists, it would be dope to get more creative and set those 2 to the side

It's much better and completely fair to say that guys like Steve Stoute and Puff "guided" Nas and Biggie, respectively, towards commercial success, which helped them go way beyond underground backpacker critical acclaim.

The next one is 92 and on like the 96 draft with ai, Kobe, Ray, starbury them with pac, snoop, wu, nas big, jay, face etc etc.(which I think is the best) but the blog era?? They like 2003 with bron, melo, Wade and bosh but a whole lot more. The blog is the richest and deepest crop we ever seen. More gamechangers than ever seen at once. And ain’t none of them broke. You have to create memories and establish a nostalgia that takes you back to the album years later.Seeing the artist perform the album live, rapping along to every song, etc. Dudes declare albums classics and can’t name every song on it off the top of their head, let alone all the lyrics.
