Jared Rosenacker Guest Artist Demonstration

Jared Rosenacker became fascinated with glass while attending Bowling Green State University. He was captivated by its power and shifted his focus to the arts, an unexpected venture that continually reveals deeper layers of meaning. For him, a correlation exists between transforming the glass into a vessel, and the way glassmaking has become a vessel that has taken him around the country and now around the world. Through travel, Rosenacker obtains knowledge and understanding, which he now expresses through his work...www.cmog.org/bio/jared-rosena...

Glad the narrator mentioned Bill Gudenrath. He is just amazing. I miss seeing his demonstration videos. These big ampitheater shows are great, but I love seeing the small & delicate & complicated works too.

Oh man! What a terrible tragedy!!! We looked up Jared Rosenacker with the Corning Museum of Glass because we met him, Tom and others, about 2 years ago on his second to last cruise ship before they took CMOG off of the ships. I have an original vase made by Jared. It appears to be black on the outside and sea blue on the inside, but if you shine a light through it, it's a menagerie of designs. So sorry about your Koala, Jared!

So great you found me here, and I'm happy you got to take home that vase. Everything from the ships was always one-of-a-kind.

That was absolutely crushing! 😔 Such a fantastic sculpture, enjoyed watching it being made very much. My deepest sympathy for all involved. BTW didn't look the least bit creepy to me. If nothing else it's not like painting for heaven's sake. 👍

Corning glass do a brilliant job. It's very wrong to say how some people or animals look Maybe you should try a blow glass and see how hard it is to do

What went wrong? Did the glass attaching the piece to the punty cool off too much?

Hi Dan, I can't remember where the failure happened, but it definitely was some part of the glass cooling off too much. Thanks for watching!

Hey Dan, the punty did not have a wide enough connection, and so there was too much weight for it to handle. Physics!

I'd love to try it again! I could have used more prep time to practice. It took more time than I thought before the demo to make the log, and some eucalyptus leaves for that log (which never had a chance to be seen).

Ever thing looks very nice but the face looks very creepy. I'm sorry but you need more prates on the face to make it less creepy ok. Besides that great job on the glass blowing
