Treg Silkwood Guest Artist Demonstration

Watch Treg Silkwood create a large driftwood sculpture in his Guest Artist demo from June 6, 2019. See photos of the final piece out of the anneler starting at 1:52:58.
Using traditional and nontraditional glassblowing and sculpting techniques, Silkwood demonstrates translating natural forms into glass. Silkwood and his wife Candice design and create marine-inspired glass sculpture. He uses a flameworking torch in the hot shop in order to attain rich detail that he cannot achieve with glassblowing alone.
The Guest Artist Series features world-class visiting artists at work in the Amphitheater Hot Shop. These special, extended demonstrations provide a fascinating peek at the techniques, artistry, and improvisation that comprise contemporary glassmaking. Our own Hot Glass Demo Team assists and narrates for each artist, answering audience questions in real time. Learn more at www.cmog.org/programs/guest-a....
