The way Jared picked his shots in rounds 2 and 3 was insane. Never got too excited, stayed in the pocket, mixed it up. I was on the edge of my seat.

When Jared hurts his opponent and starts chasing the finish, he's one of the best strikers in the UFC. I don't know if that's a hot take or not but I don't care, I stand by that statement

Man Jared looked better than ever tonight. His striking was on point tonight. Very happy to see him get the win. He's a great man. If he fights like he did tonight on his future fights he can absolutely be champion.

Vettori isn’t trash.. He’s actually pretty decently well rounded as far as MMA goes …. Jared was just better tonight.. I still can’t believe Marvin isn’t flatlined..

I loved the final part of the interview. A great, honest moment between a warrior and the host. Well done gentleman!
I wish most MMA fighters (besides guys like Max, Topuria etc) would understand that consistent bodywork makes it easier to finish their opponents, especially if one hits as hard as Jared. You are not just hurting them, but also sapping their stamina and making them worried about the body shots, which helps set up big finishing strikes.

I agree. I have a martial arts/boxing background and honestly, what you said is the reason long win streaks and title reigns happened. The gap in striking in some of these mma realms is massive

@@TheWiseguysTCG All elite boxers, kickboxers, nak muay attack the body. Remember Conor vs Mendes. It comes down to coaching, coaches need to drill this until it becomes instinctive, and not a last resort like Stipe in the DC rematch.

Imagine if Orc had more fight IQ. He chin is solid, only thing guy lacks is flexibility in his movements and shot selection.

@@flochfitness His chin is outstanding, probably the best in MW since Yoel. His cardio is great and he's good everywhere, but just not elite anywhere specifically which really hurts him when he fights guys that specialize in something and are good enough to negate whatever he's doing that they're not great. He's not great at anything but is very well rounded. He's still young, and he has shown to improve in his striking. hopefully he improves a lot more.

Considering the best kickboxer in the world got KO'd by Izzy and so did The 2nd best MW in Rob W. I know MMA math is stupid but still. Is it not a possibility that Jared just has good striking?

i doubt that. marvin has a huge neck and head which is essentially what a 'chin' really is. i seen chael sonnen in person twice here in oregon and his head is like marvins, HUGE. absorbs a lot of impact

This was a great example of the the better fighter not always winning the fight. We clearly saw that Jared was the better fighter in there and showed it over 5 rounds. But let's saw he would have been put down in round 1 with one of those punches from Marvin. Many people would assume Marvin was better then Jared. But because he fought through it, we got to see that Jared was actually the better fighter.
Jared Oakenshield used to power of arkenstone to tame the pale orc.
I hope Cannonier dont pop for secret juice because his pace was just next level this fight. 🦍🦍

Marvin was still dangerous until the last round, so throwing in a towel wouldnt be needed. The only problem was, that Marvin isnt a finisher, going into the 5th round needing a finish.
