Jared Cannonier shows off his hands after historic win vs. Marvin Vettori | ESPN MMA

Спорт

Jared Cannonier stops by the UFC Post Show to chat with Dan Hellie, Michael Chiesa and Alan Jouban after his record-setting victory vs. Marvin Vettori in the main event. Cannonier, who landed the most significant strikes in middleweight history, says he didn’t break either of his hands before breaking down his strategy. Cannonier slso discusses his post-fight callout for a middleweight title shot and his longevity for the fight game.

I wish most MMA fighters (besides guys like Max, Topuria etc) would understand that consistent bodywork makes it easier to finish their opponents, especially if one hits as hard as Jared. You are not just hurting them, but also sapping their stamina and making them worried about the body shots, which helps set up big finishing strikes.

Does anyone know what he means at 1:25 that he got a 'grapplers wrap'. I assume this is a different way of wrapping hands that favours grappling rather than striking?
