Jared Bernstein on Inflation, The Federal Reserve
Jared Bernstein, Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, breaks down the recent data showing softer growth and hotter inflation, and if there should be any concerns over consumer sentiments. He states that the economy is still very strong and shares his thoughts on how he sees inflation coming down as the Federal Reserve is no longer hiking interest rates. Jared Bernstein speaks with Kailey Leinz and Joe Mathieu on Bloomberg's "Balance of Power."

People try to predict the economy not realizing it is a command economy, central planning! my question is, instead of having much cash in bank that could lose value to inflation, do I invest in stocks or buy gold to safeguard and grow my wealth?

gold to me is an inflation hedge for long term, but not profitable in the short run. luckily some folks find solution in financial advisors

Right, the role of advisors can only be downplayed but not denied. At first hand experience, my 6-figure portfolio has compounded over 300% since covid outbreak late 2019, summing up nearly $1m ROI as of today.

His undergraduate degree is in music and his PhD is in social work. Some how, some way he ended up as Biden’s chief economic advisor. I need a scotch, a bourbon and a beer.

Who says you have to be qualified under the Biden admin
A Democrat goofball with a music degree.
How did this guy get his job? He has no qualifications whatsoever to be an economist.

One doesn't need qualifications as long as they are in bed with the right people. That's the sad reality of things and it's not just bureaucracies. That lovely Marketing VP in your company who just walked past is probably sleeping with the CEO and has no idea what's happening in her department. The IT Director who just joined is a cousin of the CIO. Cronyism and nepotism are far more common than what we think.
This is what happens to a nation when God removes his hand of protection.

Also, what about the real inflation for the people over the past 4 years....oh, and the trillion dollar interest payments

This guy is full of BS
Ask him if taxes are too high or too low
He speaks gobbledgoop.
This is BS Infaltion was up 9 perrcent and it really was at least 12 but it is 4 percent on top of 9
If ever there was an advertisement for buying gold that is it.
Real consumer spending is being done through continued rampant consumer debt creation at historically high interest rates. The brunt of GDP growth has been on the backs of continued high levels of consumer and federal debt creation (with that debt being only serviced). That's not sustainable.
This guy is a joke the hole system is a joke😢
Ofc he loves the “independence” of the Fed
2% compounded, what is that in 10 years? Then, what is 3.5% compounded? You smarter folks can do that math ;)
8 years out the US is running 20 trillion dollar deficits per annum. Thats scary.
I keep wondering if he beliefs that he knows what he doesnt know
What qualifies him for that job, other than the fact that some of his ancestors were related to mine??? And what about the rest of Joe's cabinet?

We should follow Venezuela and Argentina into true wealth by setting inflation rates at zero

Yeah. And if printing (borrowing) $1 trillion is good, why not print $100 trillion and make us all rich. lol. This guy has a serious job and he knows nothing about reality or monetary policy and federal deficits.
He's a fake.
