YOoooo no way ! NO WAY ! This is actually the style I am going for. I Never knew the trend and name but the last 3 years I bough elegants or classical cloths/shoes ( white, brown, beige ) with texture that look fancy, soft, and warm. High waist pants too. I love this aesthetic!! Omg !! I saw the video of Rachel Masky with the egyptologist like yesterday :O . They look absolutely splendid, like novel characters. 9:00 You look divine（⊙ｏ⊙）in those clothes !! sry for my broken english

I feel like a whole new dimension opened up to me when high waisted jeans became a thing. I could finally reach things on the ground without flashing my crevice to the world, I could live my life without having to pull my pants up every 5 minutes and I would not get so cold on my hips during winter time. @@Margar02 nooo stooop I’ve had childhood trauma and apparently that means people partly stay that age and I can’t deal with people doing grown up stuff like having other humans that are dependable with their lives on them. Freaky. But real talk, in Europe we have kids and stuff much later than like the US so non of my friends have kids even now, let alone a teenager (having a 17yr old for me would mean having been 15 which is super unheard of here). We had only one teen pregnancy in the entire school for the entire 9 years of high school there. So it’s suuuper unusual to have small age gaps between parents and kids.

Though I have to admit, I kind of wear a sort of low rise jeans. Since I am in a wheelchair, normal jeans get so uncomfortable. So it sounds ridiculous, but I wear maternity jeans now. They are kinda low, but have the fabric for the pregnancy belly. I don’t have a pregnancy belly, but being in a wheelchair, maternity jeans are so much more comfortable! But IF I wil ever be able to walk again, high waisted jeans ONLY!

I love how thrift stores in Japan are so nice and clean. They actually look like normal stores and there are entire second hand chains (like second street, house off, book off ect.) they have good lighting making the stores look fancy too. In Germany there are thrift stores that either sell super expensive brand products or stores that make you feel like a charity case because they advertise towards people with lower incomes. When you go there it feels like you are stealing from those in need. German thrift stores really could learn from Japanese ones

Went to a newer thrift store today in Germany, the focus wasn't on clothes though. The lighting made all the difference though and I actually felt like I could find something there and wasn't stealing from charity. Also, it didn't smell of mothballs, that also helped. I found a wooden rolling pin and a dress i liked, but I was like: I got enough dresses I never wear, so I didn't buy it. But yeah, the only other second hand/thrift store in Germany I liked was mad expensive brands. All the others are like mothball smell, bad lighting and "don't-shop-here-you-got-enough-money". I do wonder where all my "I bought that new, but wore like once because it's not actually and then donated" clothing went. I try not to do that anymore.

(Germany also exports an overproduction of chicken to African countries, destrying the local markets...) It really would be great to have a better system and second hand stores with good lighting, washed and sorted clothes and nice chaning rooms.

I just recently started following Rachel Maksy a month ago or two ago so when I got the notification for an Dark Academia video I thought it was from her channel but instead read "Rachel & Jun" haha I was even thinking of recommending her channel to you, Rachel but see you are way ahead of the game already. Another channel you might like is Bernadette Banner, her style is more of the 1890s 1910 Edwardian style but her videos are so soothing and it's fascinating watching her create these Victorian/Edwardian clothes from scratch using sewing techniques they would've used in those times. EDIT: So you already know about Bernadette Banner, never mind lol

Cropped trousers are the bane of my existence. Cute pattern? It's cropped! Perfect colour? Cropped! I watched that Egyptologist video and it was great. I love The Mummy so much. It is one of those films I watched every time it was on TV

I personally wear and use a lot of bamboo clothes and linens, it’s fantastic, light weight, breathable, soft, and doesn’t wrinkle or smell weird like normal terry towels. I love bamboo!

Also same! I switched to almost 100% thrifted, natural fibre clothing - excluding activewear bottoms. I can't even put on a polyester/acrylic sweater anymore. Rayon dresses, NEVER. Glad it's on your radar.

I appreciate the pink bar you put along the bottom for ads, its really thoughtful.

Am librarian. Sadly adventures are minimal.

Anime has ruined me and now I can't see the word "academia" without jumping to My Hero Academia.

I never heard of this dark academia. a lot of those styles are in my closet, naturally. always loved them.
