i have recently really gotten in to these Japanese street food videos

Angler fish(monk fish, sea toad) is also eaten in korea. I used to ate it and it has quite nice fish to eat. Looks creepy but taste fantastic. It's more chewier than it looks and has more richness than nornal fishes. I hope u guys try agujjim(Steamed sea toad, monkfish) once when u visit korean attraction that locates nearby seaside :)

The only meat is in the tail. I have had this cooked correctly and it is delicious. I was at a Japanese grocery store over the weekend and had the chance to try this as sashimi but I had too much in my basket already so I passed. I missed out on an opportunity. I shoulda put back the salmon.

Monk fish liver ooooooo so good!

Monkfish is quite popular in Portugal, including it's liver, a must ingredient on Monkfish Rice as it tastes wonderfully. Anyone judging a fish for it's looks is a darn fool!

While an unattractive fish it has a beautiful flavor all the preparations show the versatility of the fish, sashimi, salads, deep fried and pan fried to the torchon of liver to the preparation of the innards fried and stir fried with mushrooms and onions! A feast of one fish, certainly educational and done with such skill. Thank for posting I enjoyed this immensely!

i live in new england and have eaten baked monkfish. Very fluffy fish meat. We also used it for bait a lot when i was commercial fishing

I never saw a monk fish before it was cut up. I’ve only had it 2 times, once was in a French style soup (I think it was court bouillon or some such) the other was an Italian fish/grape tomato pasta dish and they were both delicious!
