he goes from this 2a^2 + a - 3 = 0 and uses quadraic equation - easier 2a^ +a-3 = ( a - 1 ) ( 2a + 3 ) = 0 - then get the same answers for- my a , his u.. I have not seen rest - but I assume - same - as we got the same intermediate - just different ways.
