Japanese Drive-Thru Sushi & Ramen Experience ★ ONLY in JAPAN

Ойын-сауық

Japan is a country of convenience, and if you have a car, you'll find loads of restaurants outside the cities offering drive thru service.
What's unique is more than the food - sushi, ramen, gyudon, fast food - it's the reason why Japanese go to a drive thru.
So, who are the customers that visit Japanese drive thru?
★ Families with children so they can stay in their car
★ Easy Take Away Pickup to eat at home
★ The disabled who can't enter the restaurant
Nearly all people take the food home to be eaten and don't eat in their cars according to restaurant owners.
Where did we visit?

    This is a very, very cool video of drive-thru restaurants in Japan. Love this! The prices look about right for the food and it looks delicious! In places outside of Tokyo that relies on cars for transportation, it makes sense to offer the conveniences of getting food fast from a drive-thru restaurant. I like that sushi was available. It looks very fresh. If only we had it in the US. Hmmm.........

Watching your face as you talk about and eat the food of Japan or even when you went to the sewer museum, you get a glow to your face and a sparkle in your eye's and people know without any doubt how much you love Japan. Watching your video's has made me coming to Japan one of the most important things that I want to do before I die. I just want to say thank you very much for all the work that you put into making these video's and for sharing them with us my world would be alot less bright without your hard work.

    Hi John - this is such a refreshing episode to watch. Super unique! It’s about time there’s drive thru sushi and ramen - finally! Question: If they serve the ramen in bowls through the drive thru like in the video, does that mean patrons would have to park right outside the restaurant to eat? Or would it be in to-go packaging?

  • @WaoryuONLYinJAPAN

    @WaoryuONLYinJAPAN

    5 жыл бұрын

    At first that is what I thought they did - eat in the parking lot, but they actually pick it up to eat at the office or at home. Many families rely on the fast service, esp to feed kids right away. Outside if Tokyo, there isn't a convenient store every 100 meters so people get in their cars and drive to pick up meals. Note: the noodles were hard with the ramen because customers usually take 10 minutes to drive home before eating, The noodles soften over time so it's perfect. Usually the noodles are much softer out of the boiler if you eat it in shop.

  • @JohnandMalie

    This was absolutely fascinating. Honestly, I thought this was going to be a ho-hum episode (no offense meant). Drive-thru restaurants, so what? We have had those here in the USA for decades. But to see the spin the Japanese have put on it was truly amazing. And, I have to admit, after seeing you two eating in the car, I wouldn't try it myself. I am messy enough with an In-N-Out burger; if I did it, I'd have ramen all over the car.
