Japanese Drive-Thru Sushi & Ramen Experience ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Ойын-сауық
Japan is a country of convenience, and if you have a car, you'll find loads of restaurants outside the cities offering drive thru service.
What's unique is more than the food - sushi, ramen, gyudon, fast food - it's the reason why Japanese go to a drive thru.
So, who are the customers that visit Japanese drive thru?
★ Families with children so they can stay in their car
★ Easy Take Away Pickup to eat at home
★ The disabled who can't enter the restaurant
Nearly all people take the food home to be eaten and don't eat in their cars according to restaurant owners.

I know you talk to the owners first to get permission and have enough time to set up cameras and stuff like that, but the way you make it seem so natural and unscripted gets me every time. Amazing!
I hope the Japanese government or tourist board is paying this guy big bucks lol. He always makes people look their best and brings out the best in every place he visits. Plus, he always offers family friendly content which isn't very common.

That is because American companies hate the fact that they have to pay employees which eats into their profits so they treat their employees like dirt. Companies in other countries treat their employees with a lot more respect.

This is a very, very cool video of drive-thru restaurants in Japan. Love this! The prices look about right for the food and it looks delicious! In places outside of Tokyo that relies on cars for transportation, it makes sense to offer the conveniences of getting food fast from a drive-thru restaurant. I like that sushi was available. It looks very fresh. If only we had it in the US. Hmmm.........
Serving the ramen with hard noodles so customers can enjoy them just right by the time they get home 💕🥰 I just love the thoughtfulness of the Japanese and how they pay attention to such small details...shows a caring attitude 💖
At the second location, the little run from the staff member and then the smile, I adore that. Thanks for another unique view into Japan!
This video gonna go viral especially with olympics coming soon!
deans ramen slurp game is strong haha
This is the reason why i love Japan the most, people are polite and kindly . ♥JP

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful drive-thru experience John, Im loving every minute of it.. an awesome video 😊 👍
One of the million reasons I love Japan. The convenience and the consideration of people's situations behind these convenient systems. ❤️🇯🇵 Thank you for another great video!
Never seen drive thru sushi or ramen, but it looked awesome. Put this down in your book for touring in japan for 2020 Olympics
legendary work...... a series that I don't want, ever to end
John the main reason that I love to watch your video's isn't the content which IS incredible by the way it's that YOU make watching the video's so much fun. Watching your face as you talk about and eat the food of Japan or even when you went to the sewer museum, you get a glow to your face and a sparkle in your eye's and people know without any doubt how much you love Japan. Watching your video's has made me coming to Japan one of the most important things that I want to do before I die. I just want to say thank you very much for all the work that you put into making these video's and for sharing them with us my world would be alot less bright without your hard work.
I love how John takes a simple experience like this episodes and makes it special.

Hi John - this is such a refreshing episode to watch. Super unique! It’s about time there’s drive thru sushi and ramen - finally! Question: If they serve the ramen in bowls through the drive thru like in the video, does that mean patrons would have to park right outside the restaurant to eat? Or would it be in to-go packaging?
@WaoryuONLYinJAPAN
5 жыл бұрын
At first that is what I thought they did - eat in the parking lot, but they actually pick it up to eat at the office or at home. Many families rely on the fast service, esp to feed kids right away. Outside if Tokyo, there isn't a convenient store every 100 meters so people get in their cars and drive to pick up meals. Note: the noodles were hard with the ramen because customers usually take 10 minutes to drive home before eating, The noodles soften over time so it's perfect. Usually the noodles are much softer out of the boiler if you eat it in shop.
@JohnandMalie
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply John. It absolutely makes sense to serve the noodles hard to allow it to soften during the ride home. Very cool and thanks for sharing this to us all! 🙂
The point about disabled customers is actually pretty amazing. I've never thought about it before. Thank you John for once again opening my eyes to the wonders of Japan :-)

Japan is the most hi-tech and convenient country in the whole world. HUGE THANKS John for bringing me to Japan through your videos. Take care. Enjoy and God bless💕😘
This was absolutely fascinating. Honestly, I thought this was going to be a ho-hum episode (no offense meant). Drive-thru restaurants, so what? We have had those here in the USA for decades. But to see the spin the Japanese have put on it was truly amazing. And, I have to admit, after seeing you two eating in the car, I wouldn't try it myself. I am messy enough with an In-N-Out burger; if I did it, I'd have ramen all over the car.
