Japanese DOUBLE Sand Waterfall Aquarium Setup | AQUAPROS |

Today we create a Japanese style sand waterfall aquarium! Something about the waterfall aquascape has always captivated me. Even though it can be a headache to setup, it's always worth it :) Check the links for the original video for detailed instructions on how to make the pvc components.

    The fact you rescaped the two mountains so many times plus had to make it so the sand coming form the top ends up at the spot on the bottom where it will feed it back to the top. That’s crazy man. Epic

    First off; happy New Year brother! I can’t believe I’ve missed out on the past five months of Aquapros. I started uploading & you’d think I forgot where I came from all of a sudden. I got some serious binging to do later on this evening. This is an amazing build. Of course I remember your trials & tribulations with the sand waterfall; in fact, I got it in a playlist for my future plans of my plywood build. This is beyond next level though. I wonder if a double fall could be possible with the use of a singular power head. I may have asked this years ago in one of your older videos. Oh; this is going to be an entertaining evening tonight. Thanks for all you do brother. I not only enjoy, but miss your content. Untucking & retooling that bell so I can make sure I get some notifications going forward. Happy New Year again brother!🙏🏾❤️✊🏾💪🏾

    I've been cleaning my (construction) sand first with water, before putting it in my aquarium, so it won't make the water cloudy in the tank. Haven't made one of these beautiful sandfalls yet, but I'd imagine, that washing the sand before putting it in the tank, might help as well? Anyhow, gonna watch the update videos on this later on. can't wait to see how it all turns out in the end and what kind of thoughts you'll have. I mean, you might actually have remedied this cloudy water problem by now anyway xD haha

    I'm trying to make this and water is coming out the top of the T pushing the sand out instead of pulling it in. I watched the other DIY video for it and made sure to put the 45 piece cut into it to make a venturi system, but it's still coming out the top of the T. Have you ran into this issue and do you know how to fix it?

  • @brianmuench3853

    I am having this problem also... I've tried several different T's and angles etc. and they all push water/air out of the T not allowing a lot of sand to get through...

  • @anthonyjserianni2268

    @anthonyjserianni2268

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@brianmuench3853 From what I gather, there's too much back pressure and that's why water is coming out the T. On hinsdsight, I think if I moved the sand catch to just before the last bend, then that might fix the issue. But it's so much piping to hide, plus the T issue, that I ended up just using the bubbler/air powered version instead and that is working fine, minus all the pipes. Just have to make sure to put something at the output to direct the bubbles back so it doesn't ruin the look. Hope that helps.

  • @brianmuench3853

    @brianmuench3853

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@anthonyjserianni2268 I bought a couple T's to try variants with... my first attempt is to put the 45 piece in well past the sand input in the T, hoping the water would rather keep moving forward than up and backwards out. I also think I haven't had enough sand on it. In some of these videos at the start you can see that same "swirling" at the top of the T, and I'm thinking deeper sand/deeper swirling. I tried the bubbler but I wasn't happy with the bubbles even coming out the back, so I'm kind of all in on this method. Thanks for the response though! Try, try again...

    To remedy the how clowdy the water gets and to have it take less time for the water to go clear can't you just wash and rinse the sand in a separate bucket before adding it? The bags even say on them to rinse the sand first before using it to remove lose particles so I'm wondering why you just added it straight from the bag?

    Obviously I'm not Aquapros but ... the faux stone is made of resin by Current (current-usa dot com). The black adhesive stuff is expanding foam; I personally use Great Stuff brand; specifically the one labeled Gaps and Cracks which is a cheap option. It's yellow but I cover it with silicone and rock chips or cocofiber depending on what I'm doing with it. Another option is the Great Stuff Pond and Stone which is a black version. t's a bit more expensive. I am not sure which other versions and brands are safe, as Great Stuff Gaps and Cracks is cheap and works great and I haven't bothered looking up further information.

    @@Tser Thanks! I made a quick search on a major online retailer in my country on 'expanding foam', and most of the early results came out to be a product from Selleys. I am a newbie in all this. Then I Google-Imaged the brand, I can see that the product makes white foam instead of black. I'm not sure if this can be used underwater for aquascape too.
