Japan-born chocolatier Yasushi Sasaki has been named Brussels' chocolatier of the year by the prestigious Gault&Millau food guide, earning praise as a “flavour wizard”. Sasaki moved from Japan to Belgium at the age of 19 with no plans or ability to speak French before he decided to chase a career as a chocolatier which he now says is his whole life. His chocolate creations are marriages of culinary traditions from Japan and Belgium - sourcing and using ingredients such as matcha tea, yuzu and red beans.

Speaking the local language, understanding the culinary culture and taste preferences of your customers, having connections, blessed with loads of cash to invest in any venture business...all these will give you advantages. But nothing will make you succeed better than hard work and dedication. This is a truly inspirational West meets East fusion business success story. Despite his immense popularity and huge customer base, he doesn't want to expand into having 2 shops to manage as having only 1 shop to manage means he has full control of the quality of his products and what products he produces. Customers will always wait for a quality product no matter how thin their patience gets.
The best chocolates I've ever tried were Nama Chocolates from Japan. The Japanese absolutely excel in every craft they do!

Food prep uses gloves, but wearing them gives them a false sense of sanitation (who knows how many things they touch before changing them). Professional chefs and bakers use their bare hands because they will constantly make sure to clean their hands to avoid contamination.
