    Take into account the use of the swords. Katanas are usually made to end the battle with one deadly slash. Arabian swords were made to be durable because of duels. And while Katanas are weak from the side, Arabian swords aren't.

    The original arabic sword is not like this. These swords spread with the mass migration of Turks from Central Asia to the Middle East in the 11th century. Arab swords in the time of the prophet were double-edged and straight like European swords. The Turkish elite class, who destroyed the local dynasties and the power of the Byzantine Empire, established their own new dynasties and spread these swords along with the composite bow and short and wide stirrups to be able to shot on horseback. Straight swords disappeared completely from the Middle East in a few centuries. With the domination of the Ottomans in the Balkans, straight swords gave way to curved swords. Ottoman style curved swords became very popular especially in Poland.

    The original arabic sword is not like this. These swords spread with the mass migration of Turks from Central Asia to the Middle East in the 11th century. Arab swords in the time of the prophet were double-edged and straight like European swords. The Turkish elite class, who destroyed the local dynasties and the power of the Byzantine Empire, established their own new dynasties and spread these swords along with the composite bow and short, wide stirrups to be able to shot on horseback. Straight swords disappeared completely from the Middle East in a few centuries. With the domination of the Ottomans in the Balkans, straight swords gave way to curved swords there too. Ottoman style curved swords became very popular especially in Poland.

  • @alafifi101
    @alafifi1014 жыл бұрын

    Arabian swords curve is the thing that makes the Arabian sword much better at cutting. With one hand use an Arabian sword can split a body in two halves. Arabian swords are light. And they are better for close quarter combat. The curve gives it the ability to stab the opponent in close quarter. Even go around the shield or armor joints opening. With Arabian swords you can stab at an angle. But both weapons are effective and deadly.

    @@BenDover-ud7vs Hahahahaha. Go learn some Arab history. Since when were our Arab swords like European swords throughout history? Arab swords have always been curved. Go and learn a little. As for the Turks, they have nothing to do with swords. Throughout their history, they were merely slaves to the Chinese and did not become free until the Abbasid Arabs liberated them from the Chinese and converted them to Islam. They were influenced by the culture of the Arabs and allowed them to assume power as well. Before this, the Turks had never tasted the taste of freedom.

    The Arabian sword is very famous for it's use in historical and great wars. In the Islamic empire the Arabic sword has been by the Muslims to expand and win many battles. That's why I would prefer the Arabic sword due to it proving being worthy in battle. Of course Japanese swords are also durable.

So saying that a great Khalifa like abbasid being a puppet is not fair. Khalifa were one of the biggest rulers at that time so don't think that any of them were puppets to the turkish. The turkish people were "citizens" in that empire just like any other. Maybe towards the end were the empire became weaker were then the turkish had a bigger role just like what happens for any empire in its weakest point, tries to desperately get help.
