Hey Carter, Newer follower here, I just want to say thank you for all you do with putting these videos together. This “productivity” side of KZread is finally starting to have real effects on my life. For the first time in my life I have 2,000 in savings, and 2023 is going to be the first year I’ve REALLY budgeted, and with my budget I should be able to add 1200 more a month to savings. This is all money I previously blew on eating out and nonsense purchases. The whole process is really adding to my self worth. For work, I’ve always bid jobs pretty cheap because I have these deep feelings of worthlessness. This week I bid a job at double what I normally bid and it was accepted! Anyway, your videos have been a part of my journey and inspiration so I just wanted to say thank you.

Hey Carter. New Subbie here! I really liked your reset video. I love how organized you are, you’re definitely a goal! We share a common goal with impulsive grocery shopping. It’s so hard but we can do this! Hope 2023 is a great year for you! 🤍
Hey Carter! Every time you talk about having night terrors I have so much empathy for you. I struggled with night terrors for years. I’d wake up heart racing often screaming. It was awful. I doubt it will help you but I thought I’d share that I found out in 2017 that I had PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) I found out by getting an EKG and 24 hour heart monitor (the heart monitor was key!) I had a heart procedure and I have not had night terrors since! I was having night heart block which I think was causing the night terrors. Again I doubt it will help but you never know. I hope you find relief soon 💕
You’re at 81k while I’m watching this…congrats 🎉

Freaking love this so much! ❤
I used to be subscribed when you were more of a horse account, but I am so happy you popped up in my recommended again! I'm loving all things finance and lifestyle currently. Made some dumb decisions with Credit Cards these past few months and I am ready to get back on track! Hope you had a great holiday season!
I love seeing people who know themselves! If you don’t use the planner, don’t feel pressured to get one anyway! For me and my job, my planner is my life, but I have not kept up with tracking a budget, so I only use free apps and print outs sporadically. To spend money on it wouldn’t be worth it because I don’t use it enough 🥴
Love your videos! Can you do some on sinking funds (intrigued about the Christmas idea) and how you use credit card points?
@CarterSullivan
Жыл бұрын
I've filmed a few chatty finance videos on those already if you go back on my channel! But sinking funds are so simple- it's just breaking down a big purchase into monthly savings contributions. For example, if I budget $1000 for Christmas, I would set aside around $83/month so that by Christmas I have the $1000 saved and not scrambling for it.
After having my iud for 2-3 years (hormonal and non-hormonal), I started to have weird complications. I decided to take it out. I have nexplanon, and its nice. I've been on a few birth controls, the pill and nexplanon were the best.
Currently struggling with birth control, acne, hormonal issues etc so I’m interested to hear more about your journey! Best of luck!
@CarterSullivan

I'll open up more about in coming vlogs but I think birth control choices/side effects are just SO personal. My cons for getting off the IUD and going back on the pill may not be applicable to others etc you know! Always best to talk to your doctor!!

Something from Tiffany's is so cute! Speaking of Zoey Deutch, have you seen "Before I Fall"? I love it. It's kind of like a teenage girl version of Groundhog Day. I also struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder. Have you tried a mood lamp? I bought one from Amazon years ago, and I just turn it on in the morning while I'm eating breakfast and getting ready. It's been really helpful for my energy levels in these months of less sunshine. Also, I enjoyed the way you did this reset! Thanks for sharing with us.

Do you know something - I love this! I hope this doesn’t sound condescending but you’re such a young woman and totally has her head screwed on about money and finance. You are doing exactly what I am trying to teach my kids to do so I’m going to sit them down with your videos. When I was young you see we never spoke about money. It was all very secretive and ‘rude’ to discuss your finances and I never understood why. My parents and grandparents never spoke about money. My grandparents were Canadian actually lol. I adore your videos and I’m rooting for you girl!!! Keep up the good work 👏👏👏👏👏👏. I’m 45 now and on track to retire at 55 because I’ve learned the hard way and looked at money as a friend not an enemy. My kids think I’m boring though (which I am lol) so they will listen to you I’m sure 😉🙏🏻. All the best to you and your subscribers for 2023 from the UK xxx

As much as I LOVE talking about finances, there are some things I am not qualified to speak on, one of them being investments! I highly recommend speaking to a financial advisor or someone at your bank on the subject! While I feel educated adequately on investments for MYSELF I'm not comfortable giving investing advice to others! I hope you can understand! Please keep in mind that investment accounts in Canada versus the USA vary greatly which is another reason I don't talk about them a ton on here as my audience is about 50% Canada, 50% US. All I will say is that I as a Canadian invest into a TFSA, RRSP and single stocks from time to time and aim to invest 10-15% of my income since all of my high interest debt is paid off!
Жыл бұрын
@@CarterSullivan Thank you very very much for your response. I'm actually living in the UK so your point it's a very good one. On the other hand, somehow I've assumed that being so accessible to invest, it's not easy to understand and apply to my budget and my incom. So speaking with a special might be a very good advice. Thank you 😘😘🤗 I appreciate your response 🤗🤗 happy new year!

I also really value my weekends as my time to rest, relax & recharge so I'm always reading on the weekends! I try and sub scrolling on my phone for reading and always have my kindle with me on the go in case I have any down time! Can you do a grocery/meal budgeting video? I can’t fathom having a grocery bill that low 😅
@CarterSullivan
Жыл бұрын
I mentioned in this video but we do a meal delivery service so that takes care of our weekly meals & since I pay for that Matt pays for all our odds and ends grocery runs. We still need things like fruits/veggies/yogurt/bread etc but he pays for that to even it out! I just budgeted $100-$150 for random grocery things I pick up but if you add it all up our monthly food/grocery spending bill is around $400-500 for both of us! We also love using what we have, we have a deep freezer full of meat and so we tend to do repetitive, easy cheap meals on nights we don't have the meal delivery service like spaghetti that are inexpensive when you get pasta sauce/noodles on sale!

I don’t think others are necessarily demonizing hormonal birth control, just sharing other alternatives that haven’t been widely discussed until the last few years. Many people have been made to feel crazy for having complications with hormonal birth control. I think it’s a net positive having more people share their own experiences with hormonal BC (positive or negative), beyond merely the success or failure of preventing pregnancy, but factoring in the side effects for the person’s health too (hormonal imbalances, mood, weight fluctuations, etc.). It’s helpful to hear a variety of experiences. I’m glad yours has been mostly positive… enjoyed the video as always ❤️

I do agree with your perspective and thank you for sharing! While I'm so happy people are finding what is working for them I just feel like all this talk of getting off hormonal birth control constantly on social media can be extremely harmful to the younger generation to practice safe sex! Birth control still has the HIGHEST effectiveness rate and talking about natural planning/condoms isn't always the safest route for people who don't currently want children! I'm all for doing what's best for YOU but for example when you look up 'birth control' on Instagram, I scrolled for a solid 20minutes through all the posts and couldn't find a SINGLE positive post that wasn't fear mongering or giving hormonal birth control a negative connotation which made me sad. I LOVE all the honesty that has come about in 2022 with creators sharing their journey to get off hormonal birth control it just makes me sad that no one talks about the positive reasons for being on it if that makes sense!! But agree that it's great that people are opening up about their experiences good or bad about birth control!
