I don’t know why I didn’t find your channel before this. You are wonderful! I find you to be so delightful. Your art is enchanting. I have signed up for a couple of your workshops, but I live 100 miles from the nearest city with any stores carrying art supplies. I have ordered the craft paper and mulberry paper-waiting for them to arrive. I have always sketched, done some painting, leaded glass, sewing and tailoring, upholstering, and paper crafting. I very much enjoy what you show in your home and around your travels. Thank you so very much for sharing your talent.

The pot is a bed warmer - in olden days you put in hot coal and put in under the bed to warm the bed up - sometimes under the covers but I think that is with glass bottles

Oh great ! I plan to read them all! the little white horse costs a fortune in old copies because of the film, this one will be my last on the list, it's true it's great when you discover a writer you like to see that she has been so prolific! I ve loved all the ones I read so far , the ones you mention intrigue me too very much, they are all poetic and so well written :)

Hello Laetitia. That copper thing is (I think) an ashtray. In Dutch is called rookpot, but I cannot translate it in English or French. About 1900 people (most men) smoked sigarettes and the ash was in the ashtray. Once a day the servant collect the ash in a thing like you have. It is also possible that they used it to put the (bread)crumbs from the table. With a small broom they make the table clean and collect the leftovers in that copper thing. But it is not a bedwarmer. They have small holes on top and they cannot open like this one. And I love your videos, the books, your chandelier, beautiful.

Thank you for sharing your world with your favorite things. It was all very interesting to me. I got an amazing opportunity to visit Paris a few years ago and loved every minute of it. I actually felt as if I were back home again and vowed I would some day return. In the meantime I’ll enjoy my visual trips to France through your lovely videos. I decorate my home in a similar way and I’d love to purchase a crown as you have in your home. Do you have any idea where and how I could find such a beautiful piece?

Thank you Jessica, you are most welcome overhere, oh great ! hunting for treasures in these places is always inspiring, here I hunt more tolocal brocantes and alternative second hand places which to my opinion have the best offers and you don't feel they take advantage of you as it happens sometimes in popular flea markets in Paris and big french cities.

Yes you are totally right! The best places to hunt are not always the most attractive for tourists , I think on top of that the moment you speak english in a flea market you will be seen as an ideal target .I was thinking of doing that but not sure the brocantes places would love that, my local secret brocanteur wouldn't like that he is retired and his place is a bit secret and he prefers keeping things this way, but maybe in one or two charity second hand place I could go and film . we will see;) Thank you for your kind words!

The chandelier must be electrified, or it would not have the fake candles for electric bulbs. Stuffing real candles in it just looks horrible.... And I hope you are not planning on lighting them, as they will burn your ceiling black.
