January 2024 Budget With Me In My Fave App: Quicken Simplifi
Mint users get up to 1 year FREE with Quicken Simplifi: bit.ly/3U3p0ZT
Today I'm sharing my actual budget using Quicken Simplifi! While I am a spreadsheet girly, I also love using a budgeting app to help set up my budget and easily track my expenses and categories. I've been using Simplifi for a few months now and have loved the platform in helping with my budget.

Thank you for taking the time to geek out and make this video. Trying to start my first family budget and I’m looking forward to doing this with this tool!
My small town local bank doesn't connect automatically, but I finally figured out how to pull the money in through a spreadsheet. Super helpful - thanks for this video!

We had our house appraised before closing so I've been referencing that amount that a private party appraised our house at. :)
Is there a good way in Simplifi to handle rollover budgets - for example, my Costco runs for household stuff that happen every 2-3 months? And is there a more compressed view available for planned spending? Each item there is huge, it adds nothing and takes away from an overview ability.
Marissa so glad to see you !!!! That means you’re getting settled in and unpacked ! Our favorite months here are March - May and then Sept - November we will leave dodge ( AZ ) June - August cause it’s just tooo hot - glenda in Mesa !

Thanks Glenda! We are getting settled. It's been a process! haha but so fun!
Your property is worth less than you think. Even though the construction company incentivize you to pay all your closing cost and to pay down your rate. The actual price of the home is what you paid minus what they incentive you with. They incentivize you because they wanted to keep the home prices up in the neighborhood. It's there way of manipulating the home prices so your neighbor house won't sink down in value to stabilize the housing market.
Hi Marissa. Love your videos!! Please can you do a tutorial on how you make your videos? Like how did you screen record and time it with your camera video recording. Thanks very much. Also will there be a house tour in the near future?
Really helpful. Thank you so much!
I had to laugh when you talked about utilities being so high and they’ll be lower in coming months. My utilities are around $700 on a small house, thanks California.

Yeah I cannot imagine California. lol
Great video!!
Also, If I had to do it over. I would have saved for college differently. In a different savings vehicle. One is going military, so basically my other kiddo could use that money if needed...Yet I am looking into rolling it all over into a different financial vehicle because a new rule came out where you can. Plus, When I calculate how much it made....I was disappointed.
Thank you for your excellent video. Can you compare Quicken Simplifi and. Quicken Deluxe?
Here's a question for you, if you move money around from one account to another, will that move from the original account?
Have you tried YNAB? I love spreadsheets too and YNAB is AWESOME

Been using it for 15 years
Can't add Apple Card or Apple Savings Account - my bank checking account adds but not my credit card.
Can you link Simplifi to your credit cards? We pay a lot of bills that way to maximize points. Thanks in advance - great video!!
do you help people set up their budgets & other on going services
Does the app automatically pull in and populate spending based on your checking/savings account? I use every dollar but honestly life is so busy that I forgot to track my spending and would love to find something that is a bit more automated. Great tutorial btw!

Yes! It automatically pulls your transactions and may assign it a category that it thinks it goes to, but you can go in and change the category if you need. :) Thanks for watching!
I moved to simplifi as well 😊
Are you sure Mint is closing? You said that before about Mint a couple months ago yet it still works

It was announced last year but they don't generally close down either when it's announced. They allow people the time to research what options will work for them in the future.

@@stephanielcowart6867 do you know of a free option?
Do you offer financial advice services? I have the slightest idea how to save with our income.
Yay for the sponsorship!!!

Thanks so much for your support! Always fun to partner with a company that I truly love!
I'm confused. Is this a real budget? Or just for the video? Only $500 for groceries? I wish!!! :) Our family of 4 budgets $1300 for groceries, and we've been going over some?!?
I stopped watching your budgeting videos because they are unrelatable, and are almost like a flex IMO. I mean that's great that you make almost 10,000 per month, but no "average" family makes that. So when I see your spreadsheets and what you have to work with, my main thought is, "If only we made that much," and then I don't even care about the rest of the video. Just being honest.

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. I don't mean to share it like a flex. I was sharing these videos since 2017 when we were paying off $80k of debt and making $66k combined. It's definitely been a journey to get here and I've sharing the whole journey. ❤️ We are still a middle class family.

@@TheBudgetingWife Yeah, I remember watching the videos when you both made an average amount, and that was relatable and helpful. I guess we just disagree on what Middle class is. To me, Middle class is making just enough to cover everything you absolutely need, with maybe a little extra each paycheck, but having to pay tons in taxes and health insurance each paycheck. Like making enough to not be poor and not qualify for government assistance, but also not having much extra to indulge in. 🤷♀️

@lizs4924 you are coming off as a hater. Jealousy is not a good thing. Rather than be envious, why not use her videos as motivation to increase your income.
