One of my favourite episodes!! I love how chubby Ray was in the early season - chubby representation matters! Also love the Paul Lind-esque genie

A really fun episode. Janine was pretty awesome as a Ghostbuster.

"Janine's Genie" is the first of many episodes featuring the relationship of Egon Spengler and Janine Melnitz.

Venkman: "Knock, knock." Ghost: "Who's there?" Venkman: "Dishes." Ghost: "Dishes who?" Venkman: "Dishes the Ghostbusters, come on out!" XD!

This a great episode. Janine gets tired of being left behind and wants to try some actual Ghostbusting. But she ends up biting off more than she can chew. Now she comes through and redeems herself. But she learns a valuable lesson. Sometimes it's best to be content with your own job.

Yes, this is one of the best, and yes Janine kicks butt. But there are scenes in this episode that are quite eerie watching in modern days.

I'd rather have a proper RGB Blu-ray release just in case they take the episodes down. Nothing beats physical media. Their recent upload of Citizen Ghost still has audio issues, too.

Man, that genie creeped me out when he transformed into a bigger and terrifying version of himself to converse with the ghosts with when no one was around him. Of course there was a fair share of Ghostbusters villains on this show that creeped me out beside him as well.

Actually, in spite of her being new with a proton pack, she really stepped up big time as a Ghostbuster. Even the airplane shenanigans are just an average Thursday for the team. 😁

This episode i remember when it was on tv in the 80salways hoped Egon and Janine would get together

The first of many Janine focused episodes and the first where she did some actual ghostbusting, not counting the Sandman episode (which is still not up, by the way) where she was only a Ghostbuster in the dream world. Janine's next outing as a Ghostbuster should be the one where she helps take down Proteus to help save the boys. Anyway, Thanksgiving is only two days away. Hopefully the Thanksgiving episode of _The Real Ghostbusters_ will be posted on Thursday. It's the best episode in the series.

Is there any possible way that this channel can access and post the background music of The Real Ghostbusters, WITHOUT the sound effects attached? The only soundtrack of all the hauntingly beautiful background themes of this cartoon that was ever released contained, for some reason, the sound effects of episodes in which the music played. I've been searching for the better part of my adult life for versions of this cartoon's superlative instrumentals without the extra sounds. I would gladly pay for such a soundtrack!

Hmm, that depends. Time will tell when some modern cartoons, foreign ones like anime included, actually withstand the test of time. Also, there's the flawed third season onwards for RGB, although there are the rare gems like "The Grundel". Not every fan favorite show is perfect either.

@@amystadnik324 Heck, I wanted them to adapt Extreme Ghostbusters into a live action third sequel in place of the 2016 one with real actors playing Egon’s class that were the 90’s ExGB team.

The moral of the story is be careful what you ask for kids. You just may regret it 👹🤡👻

Note to the gang, Janine's whistling better be weaponized against threats weak to sound. Anyone think Janine's suit is one of Peter's? Nothing personal, Janine, but you're not the Rookie from the 2008 Video Game. How many times has Peter's mocking kiddery (that a word?) actually proven true over the course of Seasons 1 and 2? Oh, if only Slimer fully consumed the seeds and not spat them out. Those were the days, before Disney's Aladdin showed up to make us rethink about genies. So you can punish ghosts via spanking. Thanks almost, Slimer. Wonder if the ghost's muscle-bound form is a partial shout-out to He-Man? Good thing the boss wish isn't fully detrimental, complete with Slimer still being fine help. 10:41: What's that, Scottish or Bostonian? Is it me, or are the airliners, for lack of a better animation term, partially rotoscoped? Darn miracle the ghosts (and later the Ghostbusters) didn't shatter the plane and/or the passengers because of those goshdarn G-force turns. 13:21: Oh, always with the timing with the Tahiti song lyrics. 14:18: Hey, don't frown on the lil' guy! ...Gods, even I don't think the Hudson River miracle's pilots could have done well as Janine and the Ghostbusters here, especially since Microsoft Flight Simulator hasn't gotten that advanced yet.
