Janine accompanies the Ghostbusters on a job and accepts an old lamp as part of the payment. A genie (Charlie Adler) happens to be inside the lamp and he grants her wishes (the first making her the boss and the second making Egon love her). However, the genie is also opening a gateway to let
many ghosts enter the real world.

Based on the blockbuster films, this action-packed animated series starts a decade after the original Ghostbusters saved New York City from ghosts, goblins and ghouls. All the guys have left town, except Egon, now teaching a Paranormal Studies class at the local university. But Zuul, the all-powerful demon, has awakened from hibernation to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting masses. Desperate to recruit a new team, Egon and the plucky Janine turn to four of his teenage students: Kylie, a genius with an encyclopedic knowledge of the occult; Eduardo, a hip slacker with a crush on Kylie; Garrett, a wheelchair-bound athlete with a hot temper; and Roland, a “gentle giant” mechanical whiz. It's only a matter of time before Egon, Janine, old pal Slimer and the “kids” band together to rid the city of the evildoers.

4:38 (Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston chuckled) Egon: Janine, why would you… (clears his throat) want such an eyesore? Janine: Go ahead and laugh, quiche eaters. But I think this lamp is beautiful. Peter: Better not rub it. A genie might pop out. (Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston laughed) Winston: Peter, you’re crazy, man.
This was Laura Summer's (Janine's) favorite episode. Easy to understand why. She got to do a lot. And she even got to get close to Egon. Great episode. She longs to do more. But she realizes the dangers of wish fulfilment. And she does come through in the end. But after having learned a lesson the hard way, she is happy just to go back to her normal job.
