Super solo album!! Jani Liimatainen - Finnish musician, songwriter and backing vocalist, currently a member of melodic death metal band Insomnium. He is the former guitarist and one of the founding members of the power metal band Sonata Arctica. He has also performed with Cain's Offering, Altaria and Stratovarius vocalist Timo Kotipelto (his bandmate in Cain's Offering).

Me alegra muchísimo que Jani haya lanzado material solista!

I think we can all agree it's a tough time right now. However every now and then something great comes along, this is that great something, totally brilliant, love every single track, that one with Anette though, talk about foot tapping and uplifting. Dark Element 3 soon I hope. This gave me goosebumps, incredible.

goddamn the last track is such a punch to the gut. Antti Railio's vocal performance quite frankly tops everyone else's on this album, at least for me. and also it sure does sound like the movement of Jani's high note melody in Haunted House follows Timo Kotipelto's in Visions :) P.S. I'm a Celesty fan P.P.S. It's so nice to see Tony and Jani's names right next to each other, even under the Backing Vocals description. Tony's vibrato is so distinct you can hear when he's providing backing vocals HAHA

I can't believe I'm hearing The Music Box! I'm waiting the full song since the Dream Asylum's sample back in 2007 on Myspace hahaha! Renan owned! Orgulho nosso esse menino!

Side by Side is a banger

Wow, Breathing Divinity is an excellent opening track. It hooks you in. Bjorn's vocals are outstanding. Amazing writing by Jani.

Good music is hard to find nowadays, but this is absolutely great album! I actually like all the tracks, that's very rare. Especially love the Haunted House - I think I played it 50 times on repeat when I first heard it, also must mention My Fathers Son and All Dreams Are born to Die. Perfect mix of heaviness and melodies.

Wow, I've followed Jani's work since Sydanpuu, Dream Asylum, of course Cain's Offering (being my favorite) and I really enjoyed The Dark Elemente a lot so as always, I'm happy to hear new material from Jani Thank you Jani for all that hard work and thank you frontiers records for making this possible.

I agree. I started scrolling through the comments and everyone was saying how good Side by Side was, and although it is good I was wondering if I was the only one who found The Music Box to be the best song in the album.

Amazing album Jani, the singers of the album are top of the top, some well known to me,Timo,Toni,Anette,Renan but very well suprised me the other singers also and you are finally amazing songwriter, composer and singer, love your voice. I like all the songs,my CD is on way, very glad to pre ordering. Side by Side with saxophone 🎷 with Pekka Heino,oh my goodness... fantastic song. My father's son,is an apsolute amazing song for ending the album. Thank you frontiers records.

@@ClaudioRowe well, some of my favorites are Mute Is My Sorrow (this one was written by Jani), In The Groves of Death, The Promethean Song, Unsung, Ephemeral, Heart Like A Grave, The Conjurer, The Antagonist, Winter's Gate pt.3, Lose Tonight, One For Sorrow, Only One Who Waits, Weighted Down With Sorrow, The Killjoy, Daughter of The Moon (one of Jani's favorites), Ill-Starred Son.

@@hellsunicorn If that is the case, then David needs to go listen to The Night Flight Orchestra. Bjorn is the lead singer for that and they have a lot of music that fits that Benjamin Orr vibe.

Not a single bad track on this album! I love it!

What a wonderful and diverse album! Jani sure has some vision and skill to create songs for each singer individually. "All dreams are born to die" is sure not like Sonata Actica, but it still brings out the best of Tony's voice. "Side by Side" momentarilly sounds a lot like Brother Firetribe, but then there is the twist in the breakdown (something you would never hear in brother firetribe). Kotipelto's songs will surely bring "Cain's offering" -vibes, but I sure like how "Into the Fray" chorus strikes you! And then there is this completely unknown singer (at least for me), Renan Zonta - there is something unique yet still familiar in his voice - it took me a few listens but I found his voice sounds somewhat similar to Antony Parviainen's! "Music box" sure is one of my favourite songs from this piece. Anette does great job here too, though I like some Jani's Dark elements -productions with Anette more. Jani suprises with few very high notes in his "haunted house". Antti Railio surely delivers in the Final piece and shows he can really bring up some chills/goosebumbs with his voice. I had big expectation towards this album, but still it managed to exceed them :) Also some serious riffing going on in "All dreams are born to die" and "What do you want"!

I think it would fit better as an ending theme, although is a very happy one. Ending themes are generally kinda of sad.
