I've said it before and I'll say it again: Skip E Lows is the Edward D. Wood, Jr. of interviewers.

So good to have these little snippets of Janet. Still looked great nearing 60 in this, although a lifetime of cigarettes took a toll on the skin. Bless her generation, they had no idea..

On top of that I read she suffered from bulimia. It too can prematurely age you. I've seen pictures of her in her 70's and she looked like she was in her 90's. So sad. She was stunningly beautiful in her younger years!

@@natebarrett9506 actually, it was her colitis she mentioned in the autobiography that plagued her since catching dysentery in Africa while filming Safari. I’ve not read anywhere of her bulimia, she was a healthy weight until her latter years. 😆

Although there was no Surgeon General's report, people in the 1930's & '40's (and earlier) knew that smoking was bad for your health. They also knew it caused lung diseases like emphysema. The Surgeon General's report which came much later did not surprise anyone.

And Sandra Shevey conducted Alfred Hitchcock`s last one to one interview c1972 around the same time she was an extra in the last film made by Orson Welles. Sadly Sandra now age 76 and running the Alfred Hitchcock London Walk did not interview von. Didn`t like the film with Janet nor Janet`s performance in it. for RKO I think. Set up by Hughes. www.alfredhitchcockwalk.wordpress.com
