2 weeks after I made this video I saw Janet in a tree all alone. She had obviously split from Kit recently. As I was leaving she lifted her leg to scratch and I noticed she had a wet bottom. A sign of Chlamydia Cystitis. A trap was set and at 3 am she came down and went into FOK. Unfortunately the news was really bad. She was full of cysts and in terrible pain and was euthanized. Today I helped bury her under the tree we first saw her. I cannot describe the pain of losing such a beautiful creature. She didn't deserve to get this horiffic disease. To all of us who loved her may her children not have to suffer as she did. 😓

Brad, this is a letter for you, sorry if the translate is bad.... I'm truly sorry to hear this, Brad, and I understand how significant Janet was to your heart. It's incredibly challenging to bid farewell to such a special creature, especially when you've shared precious moments with her in a unique way. The videos you posted of her and Kit captured a moment that now feels almost timeless. You were able to highlight Janet's loving and maternal nature, something we will never forget, and that's thanks to you, Brad. It's particularly poignant to learn that she had to battle chlamydia cystitis. It's painful to realize that this disease ultimately overcame her, causing unbearable pain. She didn't deserve that. The fact that you witnessed her distress and took steps to alleviate it speaks volumes about your compassion toward her. (I wouldn't have had the courage to do so.) The difficult decision to euthanize Janet was made to end her suffering, but that doesn't make the loss any less difficult. In these moments, it's important to remember the happy times shared with Janet and Kit, her maternal love. May these memories bring some comfort during this period of sorrow. Brad, take the time you need to grieve and reminisce about the beautiful moments you shared with her. My thoughts are with you and everyone at KOF during these challenging times, and I hope you find the necessary comfort to navigate through this ordeal. ❤ Mathieu,

@@CyleaBodweline Yes unfortunately with such joy comes much heartache and pain. Its hard to remember that after all the joy she gave us when she suffered at the end. I'll never forget her.

Thank you so much for the update, Brad! Wow! Kit is nearly as big as her mum, Janet. Those branches blowing about really don't bother them at all. As a matter of fact, it makes it easier to get food. I noticed that Kit still sits very closely to her mum, though. Not quite ready to be independent of Janet yet! I see Kit still crawls up into Janet's lap for snuggles. Snuggles are always good!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🐨

@@bradmustow theyare addicted to that milk, aren't they? Koals babies sure do like getting drunk at the milk bar, lol! I suspected Janet most likely had another baby in pouch. We'll see that one next summer.(your winter) I hope they continue to hang out in your backyard. What lovely company! Have you seen Junior lately? I hope he is well. This is why I would love to live in Australia. I'd love to have koalas in my backyard. We've been having snow off an on all week. It hasn't really been sticking around, but it's enough to remind us winter is here. Right now, it's actually 7°, but it often goes below 0° at night. The worst is coming. When it goes below 0°F, it's going to be very nasty! Can't wait to come to Lismore and Tuckurimba and run round in tanks and shorts!💖💖💖💖💖💖🐨
