Some may mistake one's kindness for weakness, passivity and/or submission Why give away your power? There are some women who can be sexy, soft spoken and strong (Pamela Anderson) There are others who do not possess this same quality or are not willing to cultivate it as an act of self preservation No one likes feeling dismissed, debased or experiencing invalidation because they're soft spoken However, it's our job to learn how to speak up for ourselves in a healthy fashion and manner that isn't harmful to us or others 💞 Being loud, aggressive or overly assertive can often be a byproduct of not feeling heard in a society that tends to treat women as lesser or inferior to men As a woman, it is bothersome to experience men trying to dominate you or treating you like your opinion isn't relevant due to your sex as opposed to choosing to empower you Women aren't babydolls (they have free will, autonomy and agency over their own lives) and one's body type has nothing to do with women being treated this way It's a societal issue that does not pertain and is not specifically correlated to one's body type

At last… somebody who is thinking the same as me! I’ve looked at several of her videos and I’m baffled every time as to what people see in her. He only idea I can come up with is that her “English schoolgirl” French accent may come across as charming to French people, in a similar way to how we are suckers for a French accent 😄 Perhaps that, coupled with her seriously désinvolte style just chimed with her audience in those days… But I have to add that, IMHO, that look came across as less désinvolte and more bag lady as time went on… when I look at some of her videos I just want to put her in the shower, wash her hair and the give her a square meal…. But, Serious Man, we are clearly in a minority! 🙂

@@annamacm4063 At last you say... Yes it’s rare quality you have not to see that Jane Birkin has something special. You probably don’t question why the Kate Moss or any super model of the 90s became super famous. None of them are a patch on Jane Birkin. Birkin is intelligent, and appreciated art & style. Serge Gainsbourg was an artistic genius and if he thought she was special I’m not going to disagree.
