Yeah I think he guided her to pick the pink dress by putting it in the middle “the illusion of control.” I think he had a special place in his memory palace for that memory of her. I wouldn’t be surprised if he recommended Van Pelt to ask her just so he could see her in a dress. 🥰

Hii its a little late to join the party I know but there's this clip in 6×19 I think, where Jane bumps into a woman deliberately to show that the guy standing next to her isnt her boyfriend cause otherwise he would have pushed Jane back i.e. would not have stood for jane pushing his girl around. 7×01 we see Jane proving it; when that investigator guy is rude to Lisbon; Jane pushes back saying "You neednt talk to her like that." Anyhow, thanks for all the clips; keep up the good work! Simply love them❣️

The Mentalist is my absolute favourite series... watching this made me grin as I recalled seeing each scene. Very well done. Wish there was a Season 8, 9 and 10...

LOVED THIS. Your knowledge of this show must be encyclopaedic! That origami frog scene might be my favourite of the entire show, crazy to think it was in the Pilot.

Jane always used humour and sarcasm to deflect and cover up his true feelings for Lisbon. That's why he teased her about Mashbon because he felt usurped and jealous.

Yup I noticed that too. I think in Season 2, he wanted to dance with her so he used her comment as an excuse to ask, but saying it was her who wanted to dance. Then he made a joke about the instrument to deflect that he was enjoying dancing with her.

@@keleziz76 Jane definitely felt Mashbon was trespassing and usperd him using his extravagant fleet of cars and lifestyle to impress Lisbon. That's why Jane hired all those flashy cars to show Lisbon I can do that too. Jane was physically and emotionally attracted to Lisbon. I wouldn't say he manipulated her to dance but he happily took advantage of the opportunity to get close to her. Conversely Lisbon, as always in denial " no funny business "really wanted to dance with Jane. Knowing how his mind worked why else would she mention it if she didn't want to ?

@@keleziz76 Lisbon was impressed by Mashbon's charm and lifestyle but she knew he was a self indulgent playboy and there was no realistic prospect of him being committed long term partner. Pike by contrast was a good man even Jane respected him and he was definitely marriage material if the man she really wanted didn't stop sending mixed signals and let her know one way or the other .

Mentalist is my comfort show ; I watch it’s edits n episodes everyday

This is by far the best compilation I have ever seen of anything I have ever watched!!!!

The best serie i have ever seen. The couple looks like done one to another. They are great.

Excellent work. There are many parallels with the series Lie To Me as well. I am amazed how many actors have had parts in both series. I don't remember all their real names but the actors who played Walter Mashburn, Donny Culpepper, Tish the arms saleslady, the sheriff in Santa Marta and several others have appeared in Lie To Me. The brewing romance between Patrick and Teresa, and Cal and Gillian is similar as well, but I so appreciate the physicality and tenderness between Cal and Gillian which is so evident, whereas the viewers of The Mentalist have to use their imagination. Intimacy is implied in TM but open and endearing in LTM. I wish we didn't have to work so hard to see the closeness between Jane and Lisbon. I also hope that somehow, somewhere, both shows get a reboot. Two excellent shows that are sorely missed.

I watched LTM when been younger, had the DVDs and think rewatched several times as well but now it's been years since the last encounter. What I have noticed is that no matter what show I watch nowadays (crime drama) I recognize so many actors and actresses from the mentalist. Recently watched bones and felt like every one of them were there as well! Need to go back and watch LTM again, it was great after all. ❤️

I love "The mentalist". Best of all series, It really caught me.

These scenes are awesome. As I watched the show I was catching a few of these too but you have found so much more. Is it coincidence or did the writers/creators do this deliberately? I can’t really think of another show that has tied experiences together like this throughout the storytelling.

Well.. I suck at watching it chronologically! Have done so like two times in total but same time there are single episodes like devil's cherry and then blue bird that I have watched hundred of times (actually stopped counting after 58 in early 2022) and seasons like 1 and 7 are on repeat weekly. I also edit single episodes almost everyday.. Then have discord rewatch with S2 currently, then my own rewatch S6 and also am rewatching S3 with my wife. Most often I skip season 5 though, or then watch only the precut jisbon scenes I like. It's pretty obsessive at this point.. lmao Have you counted yours? :)
