The backstory behind it is during the weigh in rockhold kept calling jan’s feet ‘small’ , jans response was he will show you the power that comes from them. Hence wanting to land that kick, i doubt jan purposely wanted to do it dirty, more stuck in the moment.

That kick after the bell changed the fight.

Instead he winds up, a total teckless kick, fires it of, while horn still blowing, and hits Luke, in the neck. Actually you don’t know the rules and Herb even said the kick was initiated before the bell rang and hit after the bell, but since the kick was thrown before the bell rang it was perfectly legal. 😊

2:24 You hear the horn, Jan shuffles into position, THEN throws the kick. At the very least he should've been deducted a point, but it would've been fair to DQ him too. That was a huge kick. I see some comments saying the audio isn't synced, but that doesn't make sense. Why would the uploader have audio and video separate and edit them together? If you frame by frame Jan takes 3 full steps after the bell then throws the kick. Even Joe Rogan agrees it was after the bell. 2:37 There's no doubt in Joe's voice.
