What is puzzling about Jan 5th/Jan 6th is the apparent preplanning to have no law enforcement backup ( FBI, National Guard, State Police, Army) to move in to help the Capitol Police. Watching as Jan 6 unfolded on Jan 6 I said to my wife that a (Republican) orchestrated betrayal was going down.

I thought about this as well. I’m a federal employee. I don’t know all the directives of my agency. Frequently I find out at the same time you all in the public do since my agency is very transparent. My thoughts are if the executive head is intent on a coup - he won’t inform the agency heads. It’s illegal. Ex the meeting with the crazies minus WH staff. That’s against protocol for a reason. That’s why Pat Cippiloni was furious.

My friend in Texas was arrested for driving a Hertz car! She spent 3 days in jail for grand theft auto, lost her job, her license for work was called into question until her lawyers proved she had rented the car in June 2021 but the car was reported stolen in December of 2020! These series of public hearings are to inform the public of all the details that were not uncovered in time for the rushed 2nd impeachment. That impeachment by the House did not result in a conviction in the GOP controlled Senate. That process was political one but these hearings are not political, however , they present testimony and facts that will shed light on what happened leading up to 6 Jan. DOJ has been working behind the scenes as they do not disclose nor discuss their work. Beyond that, there are grand juries that may or may not result in various criminal charges against various persons.

The noise in the Cippalone testimony video is unacceptable - even with the tight schedule you had. Look it up! That air conditioner? At the end of the day it is the President who is the Commander and Chief. Perhaps a protocol needs to be put forth when the enemy is domestic, even the President him/her self. There a chain of command, that if the President is compromised then the Vice President, next is Speaker of the House. Pence stepped up and took control of the situation that Trump created. I agree. The young man sitting behind Representative Murphy should be removed. The committee are doing excellent work and the bravery of the witnesses is inspirational. We should not be distracted from these historic moments by individuals who are not mature enough to focus on these important events.

Thanks to KZread I revisited some of the January 6th committee meetings. Refreshing my memory by hearing the testimony of some of the insurrections as well as the brave police who tried; while risking their lives, is spot on! Now that the justice department has caught up with the political leaders who isighted the storming of the capitol I am finally confident that justice will and must prevail! Particularly against Donald J. Trump who failed as a president and tried to topple our counties democracy!

Are you? We don't know how this will end. With all the new election laws in red states, it might be impossible to have another free and fair election. If Republicans key state lawmakers decides to not count in certain (usually Dem leaning) areas, but dismiss those ballots all togeather, there can suddenly only be one outcome, no matter how people vote. We'll see.
