I think he realized that Liverpool can’t catchup with City without that kind of spending. Pep just gets a whole new back 4 on a whim lol. He just can’t compete with that. It’s like Dortmund vs Bayern all over again for him. I truly enjoyed his 2017-18 season the most. It’s the most exciting football I’ve seen in my life and I say this as a United fan lol. True Rock n Roll football. It’s hard to hate this guy and I wish him success.

We've done more than just catch up to them. Weve done what no other team could do yet, which is to play every single football game possible and get as close as possible to a Quad. Weve also won the CL before Pep did. And went to 3 CL finals whereas City have only reached 2. Still in the Prem they have absolutely beat us, but it wasnt by much.

Every Liverpool fan was gutted just like myself, but I'm over it now and I'm excited to see who are next manager is, I've said from day 1 klopp is the modern day shankley he came into Liverpool and built the club up to be great on and off the field and the next manager will be the modern day Paisley as he's been left a young talented squad so does not need much tampering with, I can see us going up another level.

Xabi Alonso is the best candidate because has always had one of the best football brains around. Both as a player, and now proving it as a coach as well.

What I have noticed in this whole situation is every liverpool fan I have came into contact, I live in Liverpool I'm a scouser who supports liverpool, so I run into alot of reds! The thing I have noticed is every single liverpool fan instantly thought about xabi the second klopp announced he was leaving, it's very hard to get a fan base to agree when you appoint a manager, but for everyone to instantly think of xabi? It's like we choose him

He saw the writing on the wall. Salah and VVD are going to be on the wrong side of 30. It’s over. It was a great run but they aren’t good enough like peak Liverpool was. Klopp saw it and just doesn’t want to be apart of a rebuilding

As a German , i think Klopp might be the best german Coach. I dont think Hansi Flick or other german coaches would do as good of a job.

Xabi Alonso should stay at Leverkusen for 1 more season. He isn't experienced yet and I think he needs to experience 1 full season of Champions League

Why? Mourinho was only a manager for 4 years and was only at Porto for 2 of them when he went to Chelsea in 2004 Hell even if we look at former Liverpool managers, Bob Paisley had no managerial experience aside from being Bill Shankly's assistant and that worked out well. Kenny Dalglish was player manager for over half a decade and won 3 league titles and 2 FA Cups

He first worked with Bobby Robson at Sporting having been first his translator, then became a coach there in early 90's. Mourinho joined Robson at Porto as an assistant (had great success) and then followed him to Barca (had more success). That's a long time coaching & witnessing a great coach work. Mourinho then moved into management in 2000 at Benfica where he did great, politics is why he choose to resign. He then went to a smaller club Leiria & once again did a tremendous job before midseason getting offered the Porto job, a club where he once was an assistant at under Bobby Robson and had great success. At Porto Mourinho won the league title, Portuguese cup and UEFA Cup his first full season (weak Treble). He then won League title + UCL double in his 2nd season. The level of experience in coaching Mourinho had when he got the Chelsea job was next level in comparison to Xabi Alonso if he is to get Liverpool job. Xabi Alonso was coaching a youth team before getting Leverkusen job. He's not won anything yet either and he's currently leading the Bundesliga in arguably the weakest quality season Bundesliga has had in many years. Bayern Munich this season are arguably the weakest side they have had in last 10 years, possibly last season is the worst. Xabi Alonso isn't Mourinho.

Alonso knows he is most loved by the liverpool fans out of the 3 clubs.

You couldn't be more wrong about SAF. With Aberdeen, he is the last manager to win the Scottish PL outside of the Celtic/Rangers monopoly. He also won the equivalent of the Europa League against Real Madrid, nd the Super Cup against Bayern. Never mind the fact that he was up against and beat Roman Abramovich's Chelsea money.

I think Xavi Alonso will be a great Manager for Liverpool. Jürgen Klopp was educated by his former Mainz Manager Wolfgang Frank. Mr Frank used Football Videos of Elite Football Managers and specific Situations in important Games to explain his ideas of Football, to some degree it worked and Jürgen Klopp became the most successful of the players that became Managers.by Mr Frank. A unknown hidden Teacher that one of his highly talented Students became world class . On the contrast Xavi Alonso experienced Elite Football Managers of all kind day by day first hand,, and he managed to improve a poor performing Team from the bottom into a Titel Challenger in a very short period of time. Making players better is a Jürgen Klopp competence, but Alonso showing the same skill set. So Klopp is more or less the Self Made Man, and Alonso had the Chance to learn from different Elite Managers . That is not an disadvantage and I guess Jürgen Klopp would had loved to have the same opportunities, on the other hand to archive what Klopp did with the Background he had is unique.

Honestly, I don't blame him he's been at Liverpool for a long time and had an insane start at Liverpool with perfect signings basically every year at the start. But I just feel he can tell the decline. All the good players are on the verge of retiring like Salah, VVD, Allison, Thiago, Robbo and Matip etc Once they leave they will be stuck with Nunez, Trent, Bradley etc. They are all good players but it's not the same. can't challenge City with those players The next manager to get the job has a massive job to do.

You do not build a new House in decent driving distance to your National Team HQ , If you take such a Position into Account. search for "Wiesbaden Sonnenberg" and you find lots of results of new Klopp Destination . The National Team has far fewer matches to play, so the Level of stress will be far less and I am Not aware of that many Elitemanagers in Charge of National Teams,, I guess Pep Guardiola will not change to a new National Team to fight with Jürgen Klopp again, one Advantage is Guardiola is proposing Catalunya Independence. Spain is already a top class National Team, Klopp will have a huge amount of Work to improve Germany to come close to France Argentina Brasil or likewise. On the other Hand World Champion with a National Team puts you in the Hall of Fame and in the History Books once more again, and the competion is on a lower Level compared to Premier League , or anything else, it is a short intensive Challenge to play Tournaments and after that you have lots of time to recarge your Batteries if you do a Not absolute disgusting Job

German Claudio Ranieri - I get Klopp can’t compete with City in league but what about his champions league record .. knocked by Real Madrid 4 times and failed to win in any of 6 matches he played against Real Madrid then he got knocked out by Atletico Madrid also and lost Europa league final to Sevilla, I get he reached 4 champions league finals but won only one against Tottenham .. he is overrated and it’s pity he got compared with likes of Pep Guardiola
