Looking at this first 11, at a derby, shows the monumental work Klopp had done with very little money. This club reached the CL final 3 years later, and won it the year after that.

How that back 5 has changed my word. 5 world class legends now at the back.

I'm sorry Liverpool fans but "within four seasons" is not an achievement! I'm sorry but 4 years is more than enough time (Klopp built a whole new squad so that positive net spend you mentioned was never actually relevant). AND it took Tuchel 6 months to do the same! so this "stat" is actually bad this is not impressive at all

@@haimainjauo242 Tuchel already had a world class squad and has unlimited resources at his disposal to buy anyone. Klopp inherited a really bad squad and has always had a tight budget, so he's had to buy players and turn them into superstars (Salah, Mane, Jota, Robertson, etc). He's rebuilt the club from the group up, what a manager he is.

Space means the territory of the field they’re in. Arsenal can have 70% possession but if it’s in there own half then who cares. Rodgers is saying he’s rather have less of the ball but in more dangerous areas…these guys didn’t know that?

I don't care what anyone says, that's not a bad starting xi for its time. Gomez, Henderson and Firmino in there, still to be seen in a Liverpool starting xi to this day. Lucas tearing it up in Italy. Could go on.

None of those players were performing to the level they are now to be honest. Firmino was poor until Klopp came in, Henderson was good in the season that we came second and Lucas just seemed to foul people too often (I was a fan of is but looking back he's not close to what we have now)

only clyne and coutinho and possibly milner were any good at that point, can ok but a bit like pogba, great on the ball but would try do too much/silly things and not just give it. mignolet, skrtel, lovren, gomez (raw), allen, lucas, benteke, firmino (on the wing not false 9) all left a lot to be desired

This was a great show setup.

Only good players in that starting 11 were Coutinho and Firmino. And tbh, Firmino was not highly rated at this stage. 3 months later Klopp arrived. 3 years after that, Coutinho was gone, but the starting 11 didn't have a single weakness.

Skrtel was class for years. Gomez was brilliant the in the PL and CL winning seasons. Milner is solid. Lucas was a great servant.

I totally agree with Carragher there and Jamie played under Rodgers for us so that says a lot.He did some great things with Liverpool though Rodgers and we were nearly men I suppose but with some real winner's in the team.Gerrard was there obviously and who knew how this guy called BOBBY FIRMINO 😉 was gonna do and how JURGEN KLOPP would play him in the position he ended up in with some great player's coming into that team up there on the screen with Salah,Mane,Virgil and Alison and the list goes on.I think FIRMINO and Gomez are the only one's still there it's crazy how good our squad and team is now compared to then.Y.N.W.A.Just realised Henderson and how good he has become fantastic 👍💯❤🇮🇪

Bobby, what a player! God knows what he made of Benteke but Can was a monster in midfield, another player that left cos his agent whispered about money but he should have stayed, Klopp would have used him plenty plenty 😉 😜

Very hard to get in over Matip or Ibou now at CB. He's just a TAA backup now and even then I think Klopp prefers just sticking Milner down there.

I think this is the correct explanation to things. And that's a top English player in his time. To me it goes to show how much the English game has changed today. If you ask a Foden or a Shaw this same question today, they will absolutely answer with great content. The change,I think is a breath of fresh air.
