I had the best seats I could buy to see James in Baton Rouge so that my wife could see him which was something she always wanted more than anything. She was recovering from major brain surgery and was doing well. The very day he was scheduled to perform, she had a very sudden relapse and instead of going to the concert, we spent the night in the ER. Three months later she was dead from a previously undiagnosed glioblastoma tumor. Nothing he will ever sing will do nothing but bring me to tears. “Going to Carolina” is the hardest since it was one I played late one evening as we drove to...Florida (!), on our first road trip together in my first new car. That song came up on her favorite cassette and i looked over at her in the passenger seat and she was sound asleep. That song and that moment will never leave me. She was so young and beautiful. We were married for 27 years and she was twelve years younger than me. She died four years ago and I still miss her so much.

Same here ...many moons ago. Hard to believe so much times has gone by us ... and many of our love ones gone now.

Nope, he was on an island off the coast of Spain and met Karen that he mentions, there. He searched for her at some point. Having a friend do a sketch. He thought he found her in Copenhagen. Your not even close, goes to show how complete bullshit gets started. I watched him say exactly what I just said. so it'd not hearsay.

I discovered the awesome music of James Taylor when I was in my early teens and his music has been a part of my life during highschool in the 60-70's, during my time in the Army and through the years and even today. Thank you James, you've made my life even better with your music!

Just saw him at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Colorado, U.S.A June 2024. Still sounds excellent! Looking forward to the next time.

I would sing along to keep my brain engaged on the long, boring drive from home to college or back, roads that I'd traveled many times before, JT's voice and songs are in a range that my poor, untrained voice could keep up with, and I could sing as loud and as badly as I wanted, because I was alone in a noisy junker car. Ah, nostalgia...

When I watch a James Taylor performance I feel grateful to be so lucky to be honored with the work of a master -played (seemingly) just for me.

If your here in 2024 and your younger than possibly 15, then you have amazing taste in music. Its great that some kids these days appreciate song songs like this and not the new songs (which are not bad but in my opinion, oldies songs like these are better.)

A truly gifted voice

This was always one of my dad’s favorite songs & I always think of him. We aren’t close but we are on good terms and that’s enough for me. I always think of my Uncle Billy as well, when he used to play this at family gatherings, RIP uncle Billy.

His music has carried me through decades. Though tragedies and happy times. So thankful for his voice.

I heard him sing TO ME when I was in high school. I'm now at the stage of reminiscing and hoping for more years to hear him sing. He composed songs that resonates with the many passages that life pass through Relationships came and went but James stayed and helped me deal with the pain. He has always comforted me. Knowing that I have a friend in him made believe that that's why he's here. I've never turned away. He is more than a handy man. I love you, James.

It can be expected when going to see him live that he will play this. Twice when I've seen him he actually started with this song.

His voice aged like a fine wine. It isn’t as clear as it was but it’s rich and smooth. I’ll never get tired of hearing this song.

James, thanks for the memories of your concerts. 5 time attendee. This Christmas my daughter went to Carolina for Christmas. She works five jobs to make ends meet.
