He's definitely gonna see a spot on the national team, but I wonder how they're gonna work it out between Micah and him setting because both of them are pretty young... Honestly I don't know who I'd rather see in that starting spot

@@harryxu9424 he has actually retired from pro indoor from my understanding. suffered too many injuries playing pro indoor.

His serves and dumps are ridiculously good

There were some games where he got more points dumping than his hitters got attacking. Never been a fan of that.

Is he a backrow setter? Or how does their playstyle work? I thought the backrow setter wasn’t allowed to attack the ball or play above the net?

The perks of being 6"8.... The block won't be that afraid of me because i'm also a setter but i'm 5"7. But these one handed passes tho

maybe after this olympic cycle, Speraw will give Kawika's spot to J. Shaw.

I'm saying that setting your team to .391 is bad (it's awesome actually) but if he had that many dumps for kills then they honestly could have hit .450. I like Shaw but he dumps far more than a setter should be doing at this level. I feel as if it'll hurt him in the long run, particularly in MPSF playoffs and NCAA tourney. Still though, he can be really good down the line in my opinion.

He dumps alot so he can get his hitters open in the long run. You'll notice some games, his right hitter is hitting with 1-0 blocks up

Good point, but I'm saying that he dumps far too much. 2 successful dumps within a couple of sets is enough to keep the defense honest. He's dumping 4-5+ times a match. That means his passers are putting him too tight or he's being a little selfish. I don't mind him dumping but he's a setter and his main job is to run the offense, which means keeping his hitters involved. And honestly if he keeps having these high number of successful dumps, I'm not mad at him. The opposing team's blocking discipline should be better.

I think James Shawn will go to national team, become back up setter, I like Micah Christenson, but one of his weakness is his back set skill, so maybe James setting skill grow faster , he get a big chance to complet Micah.

+Elevate Yourself sometime i feel bad for him, he is a good setter , but just dont get enough time for him on court, you can see in some match Micah is become so streeted and the setting is getting messy, but coach still dont use Kawaki to change Micah, for me thisis so sad to see f

+Lau Gabriel i dont believe james will take over micahs place on the national team. james does have the height advantage and i think his serves may be better than micah but micah is an overall better player than james is. Dont forget micah played for the USA team at the age of 20, got AVCA freshmen of the year, and 3 time first team for setter. On the national team hes gotten best setter in 2 tournaments already. his decision making, consistency, blocking, and defense is the reason why USA coaching staff made him a starter.

+kenneth1win i didnt mean James will take Micah place rigth away, but i just point out the biggest weakness of Micah is his back set skill, this problem still not fix for last two years. And i think James will be back up setter after this year olympic. This year backup setter stikk be Micah.

Lau Gabriel I see, but James back set isn't that great either. I think he relies on the one hand set way too much which makes the position of the set inconsistent even though it is flashy and fun to watch. I can see James coming in front row as a blocking sub for micah if anything.

Hes the giant setter from Dateko in the second season!
