This was around 8 months after James Reyne's first solo album and most of the tracks are live here. Awesome! I only just appreciated that the bassist on that first James Reyne solo album was none other than Davey Faragher who has been with Elvis Costello and the Imposters since 2001. Looking at this it does seem we have a young Faragher on stage here. Wow!

Close, but no cigar. It's actually Andy Cichon, who's an amazing Bass Guitarist, who went on to play in such bands as Judge Mercy, Swanee and Rose Tattoo then setting foot on the international stages with Shania Twain Tours and been playing with Billy Joel since 2000. Amazingly talented and such a nice guy.

I know James's lyrics can be hard to understand at the best of times but these are the song titles. 1. Counting on me 2. Heaven on a stick 3. Mr Sandman 4. Motors to fast 5. Downhearted 6. Reckless 7. Hammerhead 8. Daughters of the northern coast 9. The Traveler 10. Fall of Rome

This lineup would rival James’ current excellent band (excluding Brett Kingman and John Watson for obvious reasons). Jef Scott, what a guitarist! I can’t think of anyone better.

Yup. A solid 30 secs or so of "Clams" to begin the set from the normally impeccable Andy Cichon. Would likely have lost his gig fee entirely for this with certain bandleaders. Buddy Rich and James Brown come to mind.

@@delmontemansaysyes E string was tuned to an A. Had no idea until I came in. Note the quick retune at songs end. Cringe worthy, still , all these years later.

@andrewcichon3037 Hi Andy and thanks for the backstory on this one. Wow, that offers a clear explanation of how this happened! Have always loved your work and certainly no disrespect intended with these comments. It clearly can happen to even the very best. You and the big man Watto were my dream rhythm section for those years spanning James Reyne and the Daryl Braithwaite bands. Kudos in spades....
