I am so sorry

My uncle played this at my grandmas funeral. She was a mother to me. I miss her so much and this song will forever remind me of her and the unconditional love she had for me 😢😢❤️❤️

so f*ckin true...he is a master @ work...just incredible what this man can do with a Pan-Flute...it takes a tremendous amount os skill to play ith this well

When I hear this song it makes me cry because it always makes me think about my dad who died over 30 years ago and I still miss him to this very day. I know that one day I will be with him again and I can’t wait to see him and run up to him and give him a cuddle and tell him how much I’ve missed him over the years. I know when I hug him I will never have to let go ever again and we will be together for ever and always. Love you daddy From your boy Richard

I grew up in a semi farmer household in a small country in Europe. We lived in a city but we had huge land in countryside which my father always tended and nurtured in memory of his father and the fact that that land gave him and his sisters food,education and life.I spent countless days helping my dad tending and taking care of the land and our animals. We have a huge Mulberry tree in front off our house in countryside where we used to take breaks under its magnificent shade. He left us young and without warning. I moved to use USA when i was 24.I couldn’t even be there for his funeral because he died when Covid happened and travel was banned in USA in the moment. But every time i hear this song,i close my eyes and i am there in a second. We sit under Mulberry tree,we laugh,we argue,we plan the rest of the day,its as real as when i was a kidd. Thats the power of music and this song. ❤️

I hope you have seen this one: kzread.info/dash/bejne/i5uTpdxxccezkaw.html For decades I used to consider this to be my most beloved melody and attributed authorship wrongly. Andre Rieu version does not even seem to be nice, he is like patronizing old Zamfir.

One of the best musical compositions /pieces ever. The orchestral combination arrangements is to perfection. This is as close to perfection as ever will be.

This piece was composed,arranged and produced by James Last in 1977. The panflute soloist is Gheorghe Zamfir, the accompanying orchestra is the JamesLast-Orchestra.This video is the premiere of this piece in the music show ZDF-Starparade on Nov.10th,1977.

El día que se fue estaba muy agitado, le puse esta música y sus pulsaciones bajaron considerablemente... poco a poco se fue relajando y yo hablándole diciéndole que soltara rastre y volara a casa, hasta que se fue. Cada vez que la escucho me llega a la mente esos momentos. Aunque sé que él está bien , no puedo evitar que se me salgan las lágrimas. Es una música preciosa y con mucho sentimiento!! ❤❤

Such a powerful song for the soul.

I first heard it in the Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. I thought it was piece from a Spaghetti Western score but it's actually a stand alone song composed and performed by James Last. It has one of the most beautiful and cathartic melodies I've ever heard. You get this sense of sadness and loneliness that is aware of itself but is accepting, perhaps grateful, for the life it had. It's like the song that represents reflection, acceptance, satisfaction, and finally peaceful rest. I cry almost every time I hear it. (Edit: I was wrong, James Last did not create this. It was Gheorghe Zamfir. Both ultimately contributed to it so I’m keeping this the way that it is.)

You got it wrong, this song was composed and performed by Gheorghe Zamfir not James Last, "The Lonely Shepherd". The original song it's played with only a pan flute.

Condivido pienamente i pensieri e sentimenti espressi! E veramente una grande Musica! Un capolavoro raro! Bravi ambedue, siccome James, come Zamphir, come anche tutto l'orchestra! Ma stranamente nessuno (se ho visto bene i commenti), non esprime, dice, allude una parola, non un solo pensiero, che colleghasse questa immensa, indescrivibile "Bellezza", composta da note musicali, con il titolo della stessa... Nessuno si chiede perche' mai questo nome o da dove viene questo titolo...? La musica, la melodia che l'abbiamo appena ascoltata, l'autore l'ha dedicata alla commovente tristezza del nostro grande "Pastore solitario", nostro Signore Gesu' Christo...

У меня всегда одна и та же ассоциация с этой мелодией. Мне лет 5, меня привели из детского садика, вечереет, это лето, так как двери на балкон открыты, за окном закат, и я стою в дверях, застыв смотрю на экран телевизора, откуда доносится эта волшебная мелодия. Я застыла, а перед глазами странные пейзажи, это что то вроде саванны, она все время разная, это как бы флешбэки с разных ракурсов на одно и то же место.. Я стою не в силах пошевелиться, мелодия гипнотизирует и притягивает... И до сих пор так... Только теперь я вижу не только ту саванну, но и себя 5ти летнюю, застывшую в дверях и смотрящую в экран телевизора ..

Спасибо, мелодия моего детства.

Это волшебно, такая мелодия, просто дух захватывает, насколько же она красивая, завораживающая, этот звук,эта атмосфера которую ты себе представляешь когда её слышишь, эта любовь автора и исполнителя всё это чувствуешь в этой мелодии, лично я когда слушаю эту мелодию представляю будто я усталый воин-путник, где-то на вершине горы или какого-то холма, сижу и провожаю закат или встречаю рассвет , с грустью в душе наигрываю эту мелодию или слышу её сам исходящую неподалёку и ещё больше придаюсь своей грусти и тоске.
