The "small" 5W Lionheart combo made in uk, has been probably one of the best combo i've ever owned. You did a great job on this line guys
Still have my 2007, made in England, LH20 and 2x12 cab. Also still have my 1983 Laney AOR 30. Driving both amps with a stereo chorus is incredible.
I bought my L5 Studio Head about 5 years ago. I really love the amazing beautiful design as well as the amazing tone of this amp. Affortable and portable.
I've had and Ironheart! LOVED IT.... 2 Cubs ... LOVED THEM... Now I want a Lionheart too!!!
Love my UK-made L20H with matching 112 cab - and may pull the trigger on another L20H (backup of course :-)) Incredible build quality, tone, and value for money!
Thank you James for the relaunch of the UK made L20T. I own #495 of the oriiginal series , which I bought new, and wouldn't dream of parting with it. It is easily one of the finest sounding and most reliable amps I've owned. I also own a Cub12R and a mini version of the L20. Just to put this into context, I've been playing guitar since 1964 and have owned over 60 amps in that time as well as over 130 guitars. Best of luck with the new UK made amps. I will of course buy one when they become available here in Canada.
I absolutely LOVE my wee Lionheart
Just bought the L5 Studio a very important upgrade from the previous Made in China model ! Thanks Laney
Brilliant news ... still use my uk made LH20 and years later got a Lionheart Studio ...
Yep will get one
Have loved my VC15-110 but seriously considering upgrading to an L20T-112.
Except for the handle (now changed) , I have so far been super happy with my made in UK Lioneheart 5W! good for home practice, powerful on stage even if surrounded by 30/50W from our brand other guitarists!
Great amps.
Thank you so much for this relaunch Laney, they’re looking great! Could you tell me please if there is much difference in the tone between the 5 w & the 20 w combo? I was looking to get the 5 w but is the 20 a thicker sound or is it purely just volume? 👍
I have a soft spot for Laney for four reasons. 1. I tried a Laney AOR half stack as an 80s kid and really liked it. Nostalgia. 2. Tony Iommi. 3. Laney are Black Country like my Dad's family were. Black Country Italians like Tony Iommi's family. 4. My Laney IRT Studio was bullet proof reliable for four years of almost daily use. It sounded great too. I should not have sold it. I'd like to see an updated version that takes account of advances in IR tech, reactive loads, and new generation USB 3 interfacing with DAW etc. But that still uses the valve power section. I just bought my nephew a Laney LT212 speaker cab to go with the Marshall Silver Jubilee 2525H that I owed him as a bribe for doing tertiary study instead of going on the dole or whatever. It looks really stylish and sounds great with that amp. Not the first bribe either. He picked up my 2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic the day after he graduated secondary school. Just as well he's all grown up now. I can not afford the bribes these days like I used to be able to (health has gone dodgy -- my karma for doing bribery I guess lol).
Hello James, does the LH5 Studio take modulation effects well? That’s the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on the LH5 studio with the LH112 Cab.
Price would be a great thing to know.
Love my L5 Studio. Great bedroom amp. If not the greatest.
Funny I always considered the LH/LC preamp section way better, evil sounding Laney's take on a single channel jcm800. Great and a bit underrated amps for sure.
I hate "made in China" instruments...
