Probably the "creamiest" voice to ever sing this aria, Where other mezzos manouvre in and out of breaks between head and chest voice, Ludwig attains probably one of the smoothest and most lucious toned version ever.

Absolutely stunning. I have never heard Dalila sung with such round and luscious tone. She is simply incomparable. R.I.P. Maestra!

So stunningly beautiful. Christa's singing could calm the most tortured soul. James sings his part with great tenderness.

Damn, when King entered i questioned who slays the most. This is beyond flawless. The vibrant voice, on the theatre that must have make the building vibrate with it, it's that sound that penetrates with this brilliancy. These voices are so rich, that's really what i feel the song asks for. And the high B might blow up La Scala if needed

Thill was a glorious singer.

I just felt what Heaven must be like. This is beyond gorgeous -- The two of them, such musicianship, such beauty of sound, such believers and expressionists of the libretto. Truly these are stupendous artists for all time.

Christa Ludwig is just flawless.

I first heard this with Rosa Ponselle and have never forgotten its melody . Norman, Ludwig,Ponseele every soprano even mezzo Marilyn Horne sing it . I imagine tenors sing it too !

That was the best Mon coeur I've ever heard. She would have had a job at Disney World nowadays, while Garanca and diDo-Nothing would get all the roles. That's the way opera, or what is left of it, works its one leg that still functions, with a cane and a crutch.

Clearly, we've unleashed the bitchy opera queens. Isn't it possible to praise Christa Ludwig without being hateful to other unique and highly successful artists? Have YOU achieved anything close to Elina Garanca, Joyce DiDonato or Cecilia Bartoli? My guess is a resounding "NO."

Ich muss gestehen, ich habe die ganze Rolle nicht im Ohr u. Sie ist wohl stellenweise dramatisch-aber gerade diese Arie nicht u. sie sollte zärtlich und innig klingen. Das höre ich nur bei Ludwig u. Baker!

Very good rendition, yet, I prefer the Russians (Obraztsova, Borodina) as they don't sing in the mask and don't sound nasal. Open sound. Never heard of the tenor before but he is a good one.

Pas tres beau Ludvig dans le grave! Quand meme quelques beaux moments.J'ai entendu Gorr sur scene et c'était bien meilleur.Quant a King, il chant serré et ca n'est pas vraiment un role pour lui.
