That is actually the highest note of the 64' octave.

that was an amazing piece of sonic delight. Wish it was on DVD for even more awesome sound. Love that organ!!

No kind; the piano is not the father of the organ. Pianos have only been around since around the end of the 17th century; the organ has been around since antiquity. It is one of the oldest instruments still in use today, and referred to as the king of instruments. The one you see here has over 10,600 pipes, and is considered one of the two greatest masterworks of E. M. Skinner, himself the greatest organ builder of his day. This instrument is worth millions, far more than any piano. ;)

I cannot stop watching this - it really is thrilling!

James is a genius practically in a class by himself. I'd almost bet I've never heard him play a wrong note, but far greater than a merely mechanical technician. I'd love to see him do Bach, especially his chorale-based liturgical works like the Orgelbüchlein, BWV 599-644, Schübler, BWV 645-650, Leipzig, BWV 651-668, Clavierübung III 552a,669-689, 802-805, 552b & Neumeister, BWV 1090-1120, but I just love to hear him play anything, a fabulous, consummate churchman wonderfully glorifying God.

Affirmatif...

I'm going to be that person who is commenting 8 years after this was posted but.....That organ was built by E. M. Skinner and Sons. It is not an Aeolian-Skinner Organ. It has been heavily modified from the original as the Cathedral wasn't complete when it was installed.

Is that a 64’ low B?

This guy is a nice player then I listen to Cochereau play the piece in Notre Dame where those reeds scream at you and the tempo keeps pushing you evermore forward leaving you drained at the end.

Its an organ! It's like a piano but instead of strings, it's pipes. They are usually are in churches. Sometimes called "king of instruments", you know why...

Wow rather good for an american organist, beginning was a bit lack lustre but brought it to a good climax well done. Its really only the French who can do justice to this kind of music!
